massive x is not bad, but avenger is ten times better. and korg collection is better than ni synths. only kontakt is the software that is not beaten by the competitors.

It's believed to be affecting such PCs. I have Intel HD 630 graphics and facing such problems since the release of Massive X and unfortunately there is no fix yet. With every update this is the first thing I check (not even expecting it in change log now), but no luck yet.

Nope. It's some NVIDIA RTX (I never remember names used for laptops). DAWs are set to run from it, except if settings are somehow ignored.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Fri May 06, 2022 6:31 pmAre you using on-board Intel graphics?pixel85 wrote: Fri May 06, 2022 3:55 pm I really like this new VFX added in this versionGUI is way better when it's rapidly stuttering with glitches when you hover mouse around the. It's fine on GTX 1060 on Desktop tho.
EDIT: Ok, so NVIDIA settings are totally useless. I had to set it up in windows settings, and now it really runs on NVIDIA card (without visual glitches).

They aren't using any hidden modes in KK/MAS... It's just tagging stuff like a regular user. The bank name is a byproduct of making things go through NA.aMUSEd wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 10:20 pmSure but there should be no hidden modes in KK or Machine either, NI need to make creation of banks open to users.EvilDragon wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 10:14 pmTimeframes and milestones... Sound designers for NI soundbanks also use KK or Maschine to tag things. There are no hidden modes to do this directly in MX.

Fine but don’t you see how that places the ability to make banks even more out of reach for users? It would be so much better if they at least made the browser respect user folders and show them in a tree view, or just added a save option that included tagging and bank names like in the Arturia plugin browsersEvilDragon wrote: Fri May 06, 2022 6:59 pmThey aren't using any hidden modes in KK/MAS... A little step back.
Massive was released in 2007, komplete with a fully featured tag browser at launch, unified across the line of synths.
Massive X was released in Jan 2019, with no tag browser until this week. With this new beautiful tag browser, you can only show one field at a time - of two fields. You cannot save your own tags - to do so needs a different app. And even if you do that, you cannot create a bank of sounds. Basic functions like a clear filter are still missing.
Native Instruments, in 2022, employs 500 people. $58m was invested in the company in 2017.
NI still make some great products. But this one is still nowhere near where Massive was straight out of the gate 15 years ago. It has taken 3 1/2 years for the product to crawl to this point.
What kind of internal dysfunction could lead to such a state of events?
(Native Instruments Glassdoor rating: 2.7/5)

Don't worry, they are aware of this all. I'm making sure of that.
But it's not as simple as you might think, it's not "just add a save option". The browser that is in MX is to be used across multiple products in the future, so it needs to be an abstraction that can be applied in different circumstances. A concept of a subbank (what would be user created "banks", because "User" section is considered a bank as it stands, to my knowledge) doesn't exist in it, yet.
Consider that when OG Massive was released, Kore already existed, so that generic browser was (more or less) easily slotted into it. MX didn't have the same situation, but as mentioned above the new browser can be considered kinda like how Kore browser was - a slot-in component for future products (with ongoing development).

Ctrl+click multiselects tags. Sound Type and Character are split into tabs so that you don't end up with the situation like in KK where you could have the tag cloud taking up a bunch of space. It's no different from collapsing the tag cloud in KK, just presented differently. But changing from Sound Type to Character doesn't erase your previous selection, it's just a context switch.noiseboyuk wrote: Fri May 06, 2022 7:32 pmWith this new beautiful tag browser, you can only show one field at a time - of two fields.

I gotta be honest - from a ux perspective it’s nowhere near as good as the old Kore browser, which was clear and all information was there in a single view. Hiding behind tabs to switch between fields is basically a ux fail. U-he handled the cloud tag issue successfully without resorting to tabs (one example).EvilDragon wrote: Fri May 06, 2022 7:51 pm Ctrl+click multiselects tags. It’s kinda depressing that NI are taking an eternity to make something that you say will now go across their range and is worse than what they did a decade and a half ago. It does, however, look prettier I’ll grant you.

It's debatable how much of a fail it is, because the browser was indeed heavily user tested. Just shows there are very different audiences out there (and that times have changed!).
Old Kore browser was not without its faults (UI not scalable, non resizeable columns that contain tags being one of biggest fails IMO - longer bank names are its downfall, and I would also say it was almost too condensed rather than using concepts of progressive reveal etc.).

I find the inability of modern people to work with stuff which might not be 100% perfect, or 100% tailored to their needs, or 100% aiding them to do basic tasks, much more depressing.noiseboyuk wrote: Fri May 06, 2022 8:20 pm It’s kinda depressing that NI are taking an eternity to make something that you say will now go across their range and is worse than what they did a decade and a half ago.
Even if I cared about preset browsers, I'm sure I'd do absolutely fine with MX's one.
I'm glad pdxindy finally uninstalled it though. Listening to those constant complaints about everything was really... depressing.

Now I hope the dev team has the ressources to approach the really important things, like MIDI learn and automation.
And maybe even the thing I have highest on my wish list, wavetable import.

My point wasn’t that you can’t work with it. Of course you can. My point is that it is worse than what existed at launch for the original Massive 15 years ago.chk071 wrote: Fri May 06, 2022 8:40 pm I find the inability of modern people to work with stuff which might not be 100% perfect, or 100% tailored to their needs, or 100% aiding them to do basic tasks, much more depressing.
