All the other 64 bit apps go in the Programs folder which is for 64 bit software.

They probably should correct the 64 bit installer to point to Program Files..

Either 32 or 64 bit can be launched from a variety of places depending on user account settings and file permissions.

There is growing "custom" of where stuff should be put primarily I think to make security easier to administer. And if a system is "well locked down" then in the name of security it might prevent quite a lot of actions.

But there is nothing "fundamental" making 64 bit code un-launchable from the 32 bit programs folder. Some high security settings might make code un-runnable from arbitrary unexpected places, maybe the root of the drive or the documents folder or whatever. The kind of places that malware might want to launch from.

I don't like some of the default security restrictions so I run the system "relaxed" and just try to be careful to keep out of trouble.

Even if not necessary, it would be "tidier" to have the 64 bit version in its expected place.

It's hard to say there may be valid programming considerations making it the sanest choice for the developer to put both versions in the same directory.

What you say is fine but the developer could have made a note during installation or on a read me file.
As an example often in installing a program do I need to uninstall the older version? A few developers inform you what to do so no need to spend time searching for the answer. Hey, developers you do so much correctly why not also put your-self in the shoes of the not-so-knowledgeable installer and just inform them. You can install over the old version or create a new installation or only one version can be installed. What is the immediate info the installer needs for a successful installation.

A user must not worry about such stuff. Most installers I know simply replace the existing installation, if uninstalling would be necessary first, it should be built into the installer of course!
If it does not work out of the box its a bug and has to be reported as such!

The micro USB port on the Morph seems a bit delicate. I plan to be moving it around a bit and thus un-plugging and re-plugging. So I got a 6" long USB A female and Micro USP male cable. Hope this will help preserve the USB connection.

Often while installing a bit of installation tips can save you time searching for the answer. Can I keep the old version and have the old and new both working. If not on the install window then I must search for the answer. Yes I sometimes I take a calculated chance and it works out.

Bumping an old thread: just got the Morph. LOVE IT! Have a Roli Rise that died, and thought about replacing it with Blocks to have another MPE controller but I'm super impressed with the Morph and glad I made that decision. Jumping between the MPE Piano pad, and the drums, and the studio/beat pad makes it incredibly flexible. It's so great to be able to change the configuration in seconds and go from Geist with the 16 pads in the Studio pad, to a percussion synth with the Drum pad, to an MPE keyboard with a synth. I also find the piano mode easier to play than the Roli. The Morph needs less practice. Will be picking up the Buchla Thunder and possibly other pads in the future.

Anyone else really loving this? Only had it a few days, but I'm very happy with it. Feel like this one should get talked about more than it does.

It's really great and I'm thinking of getting a second one to get the 4 octaves.
Actually I wish they made a "long version" similar to a Haken Continuum.

I got it with the Piano and Innovator's overlay, mainly for music purposes but the ability to create custom overlays and mapping the buttons with any kind of keyboard combinations makes it an extremely versatile tool/controller for any kind of software application.

Pressure sensitivity is better than I expected, velocity sensitivity is ok...

I'm seeing more and more videos about the Morph on youtube also by bigger channels, they've been around for a few years but recently really starting to get a foothold in the music production world.

I wrote to Sensel:

Would be great if you made a 8”x 48” x ½” thick midi controller to function similar to the Continuum.
OR
a piano keyboard overlay allowing 1” on top for a ribbon controller similar to the ExpressioMate.
Even now the keys are very long so there is room on top for a ribbon controller.

Also thinking about getting a second. I was using it on my "goofing around" laptop rig with my NI Komplete Kontrol M32 and it was a cool setup. The M32 was handling chords in the lower octaves, while I played MPE leads with the Morph on the right hand. Nice combo.

I declare the Sensel Morph: totally under rated! Much prefer it to the Roli.

^It sounds like they will be using the technology in laptop trackpads like Lenovo. Maybe it could be better for some people?

Yeh, So sad, I love my morph, it lives with my iPad as the perfect travel companion. now you can’t get them anymore second hand prices will probably rocket!
