I've worked with plenty of women in this industry, including vocalists, models, porn stars, musicians, engineers, assistant engineers etc., and I don't see this as a gender issue at all.

I've recently made the jump from Custom PC builds to an M1 Mac mini -minimum spec. I'm impressed with the performance of apple OS for audio in general compared to windows but the 8gb ram was a really bad choice that I instantly regretted. Soon as I hit Max ram and the UI starts to turn to a PowerPoint presentation. So annoying you cannot upgrade to a bigger chip they should have just made minimum spec 16GB UM. The OS these days plus a few chrome tabs eats enough memory. Kudos to the many devs who have already updated their plugins to support it. The only one that's annoyed me so far is D16 who I know are already way behind on updating their soft synths and must lose out on loads of potential profit from resales. I imagine having worked on updates and then having the M1 bomb dropped on them was probably their worst nightmare. The fact that their audio effects work natively is hopefully a good sign that they can do it and that they're simply trying to get their paid upgrades out the door asap along with some much anticipated updates to their synths.

There are some extreme disparities between developers. Look at Waves, Melda, Eventide, and Arturia who have updated their entire large catalogs in a timely fashion, compared to others like IK Multimedia who have updated almost none.
