Dear KVR Members,

we are happy to announce an update for Blue Cat's Connector, our universal connection plug-in that can be used to route audio and MIDI almost anywhere "in the box".

This free update adds a new MIDI meter to monitor MIDI activity on the send and receive channels. It also adds a free Windows ASIO driver, to use any audio application as an audio server for Connector, offering seamless integration, like it was already the case with our own applications. The new version also includes a couple of important fixes (details below): this is a recommended update.

A special re-introduction offer applies to the plug-in until June 10th (details below), and existing customers will receive a special offer by email.

More information about this plug-in can be found on www.bluecataudio.com.

What's New For Blue Cat's Connector 1.1:
- New MIDI activity meter for send and receive.
- Free Windows ASIO slave driver for Connector: install the driver and use it in any ASIO-compatible app. Connect with the Connector plug-in anywhere and stream audio to and from the app directly.
- Fixed burst noise that could be heard randomly upon first reception.
- Fixed unexpected 1 sample-latency upon reception.
- VST3: fixed parameters update issues in some host applications.

System requirements:
- Intel or M1 Mac running Mac OS 10.9 or newer.
- PC running Windows Vista or newer.

Introduction Pricing Until June 10th:
- Blue Cat's Connector: 39 USD/EUR, instead of 49 (20% off)

I think all of the BC stuff that can host plugins is available as a standalone, even Axiom.

thanks I just checked it - will be great to integrate all sorts of standalone software eg AUXTURE, Gleetchlab stuff

Both Axiom and PatchWork are indeed available as standalone applications. And so is Plug'n Script.

ah, for some reason I thought MB-7 was as well, my mistake.

Both Late Replies and MB-7 Mixer are indeed not available as standalone apps. Since they are more specialized (they are audio effects in the first place, before being plug-ins hosts), I think it probably makes more sense to load them as plug-ins.

Can this be used to route the free VCV Rack 2 standalone into Cubase?
If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit.

If this app supports ASIO and you are running on Windows, then yes it will probably work. You may want to check out the demo.

Why does it need ASIO? Isn‘t the streaming pure IP?
The question is more, why not getting the VST of VCV. The pluginhost module isn‘t free either…

This could be very handy with Sononym; at the moment I have to switch to WASAPI (and accept more latency) for seamless switching back and forth. (Audio interface drivers do not like having multiple ASIO programs open.)

With this one could send Sononym to a monitoring track in the DAW, and even apply effects while browsing samples.

Can this plugin be used to record a microphone track using an UAD apollo interface with its unison preamp feature and route this signal into a cubase input track while cubase itself uses the RME fireface ufx driver?

I own patchwork as well.

Yeh, I had the same question- will this let me aggregate audio interfaces (2 x USB AISO Audio Interfaces with different AISO drivers) in one DAW with low latency (AISO4All could work but be a bit flaky) as this is the holy grail for Windows users!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

It is. However if he want to use the app, the only way to send audio is to use the ASIO driver, as I don't think this app can load third party plug-ins.
