Hi everyone 👋,

Really excited to announce the public beta release of Bace. https://bace.app/

➡️ About
Bace transforms your voice into a MIDI controller. Our patent pending AI technology uses voice-recognition to control MIDI in real-time. Bace includes 4 tracks that can be trained to recognize your voice. Each track sends out MIDI data and communicates on it's own MIDI channel giving you tons of flexibility to control multiple sound sources at once. Open the AU or VST3 plug-in inside your DAW or use the Standalone app to control hardware and software.

Please feel free to download and try Bace Beta and let us know what you think. We really appreciate your feedback!
IMPORTANT NOTE - I'm leaving on tour TODAY for a month, so I might not be as responsive as I'd like to be. 😉
➡️ System requirements
  • 64-bit processor
  • 8 GB of ram
  • 50 MB HDD storage
  • macOS 10.14 and above
➡️ Bace Demo

Interesting idea, overall.
Looking for a more convincing demo. Something that is complex enough, sounds musical, and is achieved in significantly less time compared to conventional "solutions".

Tracking pitch in real time accurately might be more valuable than percussive sounds.
OTOH, I dreamed being able to record the "drum sounds" I make with sliding my teeth :) Actually not joking about that one.

MacOS only?
8 gigs of RAM... for what?! The glowy thingy?

Mac only, sadness :(

Thanks for the input. Sorry for the delay in responding, I've been on tour the whole month of May and just got back a couple of days ago.

I hear you on pitch. We do have something in R&D, but drum detection was my first passion, so we are leaning heavily on that for now. And you can for sure train Bace to detect the sliding of your teeth and map that to any MIDI note ;)

As for the RAM, that's just a basic benchmark taken from most modern macOS machines. The app itself does not utilize that much RAM.

Umm, for that I would expect you would need some kind of dedicated hardware as well. I tried to record that, and... no luck. What the mike is picking up bears no resemblance to the "percussion" i hear in my bones :)

Yeah, you would need a contact mic. I can tell you that I've been able to train Bace to detect finger taps, fingernail scrape and fingernail taps with great success using a contact mic. I'd imagine the same can be done with the teeth sliding.

Sorry for not updating you sooner. Windows version has been available for some time. Also, we recently pushed an update with an improved triggering detection algorithm and latency compensation. ;) https://bace.app
