I'm not in the market for Bastl Pizza but it sounds nice (and kind of a cool video)
The main things I'm waiting for are more demos of the Xaoc Sofia, and whatever the Endorphin.es delay/reverb/resonator thing is that I've only seen a screenshot of a corner of the module on an Instagram post.

Yeah, I'm not either, but I liked that video and the sound as well. Very cool.foosnark wrote: Wed May 11, 2022 8:17 pm I'm not in the market for Bastl Pizza but it sounds nice (and kind of a cool video)

I'm surprised to see Eventide announce a sequencer/compositional tool.
As one might imagine, I'm pretty excited to see the stuff that Random*Source is showing off. I'd really like to see some of the new 4x4 modules they announced but the VC Resonant EQ they teased on Instagram is boner-ific and those Paperface panels look gorgeous.

Yes, the oddball sizes typically throw me off as well. Hmm, on second listen, it would probably sound kinda cool through this, which I've had on pre-order for over a year, and is apparently close to shipping.pekbro wrote: Wed May 11, 2022 9:48 pm Nice, the pizza is a normal 8 hp, rather than 7 or some other odd width. Seriously, that has put me off

Aurora looks cool, definitely. Worth the wait no doubt.Shabdahbriah wrote: Thu May 12, 2022 9:09 amYes, the oddball sizes typically throw me off as well. This sounds extremely good…Shabdahbriah wrote: Wed May 11, 2022 7:12 pmYes, the price is $249 (US), an unarguably good value, with the keyboard/sequencer, as well as everything sounds good, and is easy to randomize/adjust parameters on, and 'save'.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Wed May 11, 2022 5:55 amI do like units that are standalone, but that could later be racked.Shabdahbriah wrote: Wed May 11, 2022 5:42 am I invariably look at the potential for mounting things in the rack, or making a case that approximates the rack size/layout, even if only for visual continuity. The Volca stuff has its appeal in that way, and I may eventually pick up a Volca Drum, but it has never been a priority or enough of a g.a.s. compulsion to do so.
This new one from Cre8Audio looks pretty fun and he says in the review it will fit in a rack if you want it to. Seems a cheap way to add a sequencer and oscillator, filter etc in 40 hp if the rumoured $250 price point is correct.

(aside)... I would not be at all surprised if a "West Beast" were in the works, as Pittsburgh are big fans of Buchla, and myriad forms of wave-folding, and randomization.

$599 RRP. Nope. Just seems to be a pointlessly wide unit that does some basic modulus based maths on scale intervals. Think I’ll have a go at knocking up something that does the same in VCV for free.justin3am wrote: Thu May 12, 2022 4:34 am I'm surprised to see Eventide announce a sequencer/compositional tool.

In other news Teenage Engineering released a successor to OP1 with OP1 Field. Lots of upgrades but with an upgraded price of $1999
I can’t help imagining their product price meetings looking more like Dr. Evil ready to ransom the world.

They’ve really taken Stella’s “Reassuringly expensive” ball and run with it.
Happy for anyone who loves their shtick, but I can’t stand anything to do with it.
