Nice update, pity they doubled the price!

X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Pricing aside, it looks like a solid update to the original OP-1. At least it doesn't seem as ridiculous to me as the TX-6.

I was kinda hoping the would build all the OP-Z step sequencer stuff in, its all digital and the no doubt have the CPU power now. The tape stuff is fun but ultimately limiting.

That said, more likely to put out a 2 grand OP-Z in and metal case as part of the 'field' system than make a value proposition!

Not sure they updgraded the cpu , the og was a blackfin and imo underpowered to begin with , crappy dsp algoritms etc .
Asking price for the op. 1 field is beyond ridiculous .
Eyeball exchanging
Soul calibrating ..frequencies

Yup- but I kinda agree its not 'as' ridiculous to me as the TX-6...TE just think of a price that about right and then double it...and people still buy it so :?: I paid £740 for my OP-1 about 7 year ago, felt a bit overpriced then to be honest!

I also think the price is silly. Of course some will buy it. There’s an almost cult-like following for OP-1 and TE. People get OP-1 tattoos, so of course some will buy.

For everyone else though

I just can’t see where the price begins to make sense. Price per features are not there IMO.

The only way I see someone get excited about this is if they have an OP-1 already. I know today I saw the announcement and thought today might be the day I purchase an OP-1, but that price just doesn’t make sense to me. It definitely has many of the features people have been asking for, but there’s other gear I rather have for the same price and cheaper.

People are going crazy for this on one of the other (hipster) forums I frequent; many there also immediately dropped $1300 on the TX-6. I came here for a sanity check. The price of this thing is ridiculous.

Meh, if they would shrink it to 1x1cm size then I would be interested to get it for $5k.

Hey, no one told me there was a hipster forum :D

Its pretty much being slated for the price gauging on every forum I look at, even Elektronougts which is just full of hardware gearheads...sure are there are a few people saying they will order it...some content providers will make that back on YT video sponsorship, some genuinely make all their music with OP-1 (I spent far more on Eurorack so who am I to talk) but most of us would like one but wont pay that (I would do anything for love...)

meanwhile DRAMBO 2 is out, £17 quid and far more powerful than the OP-1 on an iPAD or even a phone...so we are not stuck for portable synths and sequencers.

Thanks for the heads-up on Drambo 2. Is this a paid upgrade from version 1?
