Note that this is a standalone app, but you can record your performances or use Rogue Amoeba Loopback to route the audio directly to your DAW. Also, there is an IAP for obtaining MIDI/OSC control support.

Purchased this today, and I'm enjoying a lot.

Regarding the other SonicLab plugins sold in his web, it will be cool if someone can confirm if these are M1 native, specially the more recent ones, Fundamental 2 and Thermo. The pack including these two synths is really tempting. There are demos, so it's a matter of installing this with an alternate iLock account. Personally, I don't like to fill my main iLok account with demo licenses.

StarWaves is from SonicPlanet, not SonicLab.

They seem to have changed their name (on the App Store at least). Click into it and you'll see all the old sonicLAB products.

Superstition?
Because VST3s are often just wrapped VST2s. Because VST2s tend to be more stable and have fewer bugs. Because since developers need to support multiple formats rather than just VST3, they develop to the least common denominator, and the "extra" features of VST3 are almost never used.

Given the same plugin in both formats, in a DAW that supports both formats, there is no advantage of VST3 over VST2.

If starting with a new project today, VST3 is more future-proof.

This is actually not true. You have been misled by a small group of developers who can't code VST3 properly so they make a lot of noise.

So what?

No, that's not my experience. Do you often use VST3 over VST2?

If you say so... sounds quoted straight of some developer's mouth (probably the ones involved in the CLAP format you love so much).

Actually, there are. But, if I told you, you'd probably write it off as marketing bla.

But, nothing of that is really relevant, is it? Relevant is that more and more hosts will support VST3, and more and more will phase out VST2. Of course, we could go on discussing, but that wouldn't change anything about it.

ChowDSP seems to be missing from the database, but all plugins are confirmed Universal Binaries for Apple Silicon/Intel.

ChowDSP plugins:

BYOD
Chow Tape Model
Chow Matrix
Chow Centaur
Chow Kick
Chow Phaser

"ChowDSP plugins are universal binaries that will work on both Intel and Apple Silicon devices."

It was native for some time, the real news is that they added a VST3 version and have redone the user interface. But given that they didn't make an announcement when the M1 version was released, they are also highlighting this in the recent press note.

I wasn’t aware it was native until a few days ago when the new vst3 version was released alongside the updated gui, very happy to see either way!

?? Strobe has been Arm native for quite some time. It was on the original list on this site. Tested and working here for months.
Lucky you. I still haven't been able to use the FXpansion software I paid for 2 years ago on my computers.

I submitted a ticket to Roli "support" on April 14 for my fxpansion strobe2 and cypber2 not authorizing. Didn't receive an email back until May 11 and all they did was tell me to de-authorize and try again (their month-tardy details were literally in the screenshot I sent them in my ticket). Naturally that didn't work on May 11th, just like it didn't work on April 14.

Not an acceptable means of support. At this point I want my money back for these products. They will not authorize on my computers, and your "support" is neither timely, nor effective. It's shameful, really.

If there's anything this Apple Silicon transition has taught me, it's which companies to stop supporting forever.
It’s not a secret that Roli is hemorrhaging. Curious as to why you’re having issues? Roli has a lame little app you install that pops up in your menu to authorize Cypher and Strobe from what I recall. They do work, I’m on a MacBook Air.

That said, I’m pretty done with Roli and need to par down my plug ins a bit, I’m completely out of hand, and good authorization methods are a reason to keep a plug in, bad ones are a reason to get rids of them..

Also weird, I recognize your online name from 2004 on the Ableton forums. Die hARDS \m/
