Cubase Crashing Loading Projects?

I just upgraded my CPU. This required that I flash the motherboard. The computer itself is running great and I'm not having any issues opening up or using any of my programs.

What's happening though is I can no longer open up certain large projects in Cubase. After several minutes of loading these particular projects, the program just crashes, 100% of the time.

I've tried every "fix" I could find online and nothing seems to help.

Any suggestions?

Since you suggest you can open smaller Projects, it may be one or two plug-ins that are crashing the larger launches. Try opening in Safe mode. Hold down Shift/Alt/Opt while launching. Check the “Deactivate all 3rd party plug-ins” box and OK to continue.

If the Project launches, take note of all the missing plug-ins this Project uses. Here’s the annoying part: quit Cubase, move all you noted out of your VST folders (somewhere safe) except for one (your choice) and relaunch. No crash? Add another back and relaunch. No crash? Repeat until you crash it. The last one you added may need to be updated or replaced with a substitute.

However, if it crashes after the initial Safe mode/disable plugs launch, check the Disable Preferences box in another Safe mode start (along with the Disable 3rd party plug-ins checkbox) and start adding plug-ins back with successive launches until you bump into one (or more) that kills it. Use a substitute or check for newer version.

If none of this works, then I’m out of ideas. Almost all launch crashes can be traced back to a 3rd party plug-in. Sometimes you can save a boatload of time by reading the crash logs Cubase generates…where it shows up in a crashed thread entry. Don’t ask me where they are stored on a PC (read my sig).
