Even if the price is low, I would not want something that's only going to need replacement in a few years. Like my damn cell phone does.
I’m guessing there will be a tear down video soon enough. I’m curious about battery replacements although I don’t believe this will be as bad a phone battery. Still, it doesn’t last long on a single charge. As dumb as the OP-1 price is, they’ve got a 24 hour battery charge.
I'm just bitter when it comes to batteries , pretty sure I saw that they have already come
up with the tech for small batteries that will last a couple hundred years before degrading. Seemingly, we will never see them as some companies would stand to lose a lot of money.
I get it though. Man that would be amazing… just have these alway able to turn on electronics.

This may be released next year. Has support from electric car industry and it's not released by Plugin Alliance, so it can be real game changer ;)

Li-ion batteries only have a life span of a couple of years. Non-replaceable ones are just the worst form of planned obsolescence and e-waste generation. It's ridiculous that companies get away with releasing disposable products with a built-in self-destruct timer after ~24 months. I hope the EU legislation that will require phones to have user-replaceable batteries goes through, and that it will also be applied to other electronic devices.

From my own experience with phones, tablets, laptops etc I have yet to have a battery die from use. It's lack of use that does them in.

Lack of use killed my iPod Touch and MacBook batteries. By contrast, my 4th gen iPad will be 10 this year, gets used almost every day, and according to some battery app has 12.6% battery wear.

Maybe in the future we'll have supercapacitor drop-in replacements for batteries.

This drum module already looked good on first glance, but then the dev said how it’s totally built from filters and not oscillators which is different and then he stuck something through it as a sequenced oscillator and it sounds like Underworld’s Rez

Now that sounds crazy fun.

I could definitely see getting one of these, if it does MIDI or CV output:

This would be very cool. I need something for drumming at 2 am. Just for the possibility of being responsive, quiet and with multiple trigger locations I can get over having such a narrow area to aim for. I guess it wouldn’t seem much different than an attached woodblock on a drum kit.

I really hope this comes to market and I hope his mustachio makes it into the logo.

he does mention midi over usb :)

not sure i care about drums per se, but a "different" style of midi controller is always fun!

and if it comes with a free false tash! im in!
