A Skulpt (from Modal Electronics) fell into my hands yesterday. I'm wondering if it is possible to use it as a sequencer for other synths. Is that a thing the Skulpt can do, or is it unable to send control signals like that?

Skulpt has the worst keyboard in the history of really bad keyboards. It's not even useful for playing the Skulpt, but it does send MIDI out.

I would prefer a Skulpt without keyboard, but I really can’t complain. Got a MPE synth for an absolute bargain price which also is usable as controller. Its as easy to incorporate it into my DAW as if it were a plugin…

Yeah but it doesn't exactly sound great and it's not exactly a joy to work with. On the list of things about Skulpt, I'd rate MPE compatibility at about 20th and, unfortunately, there are at least a dozen things higher up that are bad about Skulpt. It rates for me as one of the worst hardware purchases I've ever made. Craft Synth 2.0 sounds much better and addresses a few of the missteps of Skulpt, for less money. Weird but true.

Skulpt--Can it be used as a controller in a pinch?
