vsthost won't use my devices

Hello,

I am trying to use vsthost on my laptop, however, every time I set my audio input and output device in the device menu and press ok, the program freezes for a few seconds and resets the devices to Microsoft Soundmapper. I am not able to recreate this issue on my PC, everything works fine on it.

Does anybody know how to fix this?
