Having great fun with the Maths. Found I could send in v/oct from a sequencer into channel 2 and an attenuverted LFO into channel 3 and send the sum into a set scale quantiser (in my case an Ornament and Crime) before sending the output on to the sound source. Means I can manually use knobs to continually stray away from and then back towards a repeating sequence. Really nice. The biggest issue I now have with the Maths is I want a ton of them.

That's one of my favorite quantizer patches. u-he's CVilization is great for that kind of thing too.

Seems I have encountered a downside to hardware modular. I have a Mutant Brains I can send MIDI to from my DAW, but it seems to be useless after an hour or two, could it be prone to overheating?
Anyone ever tried fitting PC style case cooler fans inside their Eurorack case or is it pointless?

That doesn't sound right. Mine does not have any problems, heat or otherwise.

ive seen fan with grill modules, so im assuming there's a reason?

but as pek says, it shouldn't be an issue, especially not here, it's not like we have 40 degrees before we switch on.

what's it next to? something putting out more heat than others?

it’s right next to a Pams as it drives the clock BPM form the DAW.

I hope it’s not fecked as it’s really handy.

well ive never heard of any issue with pams or brains before?
seems odd that it works then doesn't, so it doesn't sound f**ked at least?

just cuts out or becomes unreliable/intermittent?

does it restart with a reboot? or need cooling time?

I haven't had any issues like that with Mutant Brain either. Might be worth while to temporarily remove some modules from the cases to check if it's a current draw thing. Even if you are within the bounds of the PSU specs, it could be that +12V heavy modules are stressing the power supply.

It's definitely shafted, the only sign of life is I can get the LED on the right of the MIDI socket to light briefly when I press the panic button below it. Relocated it to a small rack I have which pretty much had it to itself and no joy there either. Tried different leads, swapped out MIDI from my main MIDI interface to MIDI directly from my Digitakt, nothing's working.
Such a shame, was having a ball with it earlier. Suppose I'll have to send it to France to get it fixed - bought it used off Reverb - and with the Brexit shitshow I've no idea how long I'll have to wait for that or what it may cost. Ho hum. Use it so much I may just source a second unit to have while waiting for repair.

Update: out of desperation I tried to reload the firmware so it may be sorted now.

Well sort of. I've managed to get it working on the original sysex, but it doesn't now like my updated sysex which includes a clock trigger the Pam's responds to. Ho hum, will keep monkeying around and see if I can fix it.
