When using Logic to play a MIDI instrument, it needs to run in Live Mode and yes, that runs a single core.
If you use Logic Instruments, this doesn't become an issue, it's when you use 3rd party plig-ins, that's when the single core runs high. The worst is kontakt libraries because thost aren't complied libraries, those use scripting which has to run thru a scriptng engine.

You can't use IAC or a Virtual Port or The Environment, since those will still put Logic in a single core Live Mode.

So I created a MIDIFx plug-in that is setup as a host-receiver(s) and now you can achieve Multi Core Support in Logic Live Mode.

I'm cureently working now on the setup for the App Store to submit so it can be released.
This version is an Apple Silion only version.

I'm finishing up the Intel version.

Since Logic announced full support for MIDIFx AUv3 in Logic 10.7.3, I can't support any earlier versions of Logic, you can purchase it but it's an on your own usage. IMPORTANT NOTE HERE***

I kind of wonder if this is related in any way to the way I notice Logic not being able to handle the same amount of plugins as Ableton or if it's just that most of the native Ableton instruments/fx are more cpu optimized? A buddy of mine said that Logic uses more GPU because of the visuals and all, but still that shouldn't affect the cpu and it's clipping.
