2022: anything FREER, newer, better than LFX-1310 multieffects?

this effects is old, crusty, dirty, weak, and lame, and I love it. Why? VERY simple, VERY fast, VERY light weight on cpu, and has many parts I enjoy, moveable in any order, ALL IN ONE plugin.

I try and keep up with the freewares, but I don't recall seeing many things like this. Maybe that means this format is not popular?
It's fun to play with! Just drop in this one plug, get (bad) reverbs, various delays, chorus, phaser, distortion, etc etc etc

What are some other FREE, simple, fast, small, light weight, effective, all in one FX plugins? And I don't mean like Melda with really great effects that are all seperate, I mean ALL IN ONE.

Spurred on by your post I installed the LFX again for nostalgia's sake. I'm not sure I would call it "weak and lame".

Try this preset on some acoustic drums:

LFX Drums 01.zip

Does the LFX stand up to the quality of more recent FX? No but it does have character and that's important. Its greatest weaknesses now are 32 bit only and the GUI is tiny at 1920x1080.

If Sonic Cat were to update it to address those issues I'd pay a few bucks for it. They just updated Purity so maybe if we ask them to work on the LFX....

Anyway in an attempt to answer your question focusing on a freeware alternative I'm drawing a blank. I'm sure there must be something out there but it's eluding me at this moment. There are suites like the Dead Duck plugins but I can't think of a freeware all-in-one off the top of my head.

Kilohearts Snap Heap 2. Usually not free, but right now it is (until june 12th, i think). All the other checkboxes are clicked (easy, lightweight and better sounding)

I've had versions of Snap Heap installed over the years and was never too impressed but with this larger collection of FX I'm finding it to be very nice and quite useful.

As a bonus the FX are also available as separate plugins.

Very generous of Kilo Hearts to set this version free.

And Snap Heap V2 is a lot better if you remember the old clumsy version. Now you get a better UI, more banks for effects and way more presets. And the sound quality of the 30 effects is fantastic. For example the pitch shifter alone is worth the download.

Also, i am using Snap Heap as my preferred audio workstation for video editing in DaVinci Resolve. Just one Plugin for all the basic editing like reverb, delay, vocal doubling, de-noising etc. So unbelievable what is free these days!

New free snap heap is deffo a killer plug, but its more for sound design. I'd say for a free multi fx, install Surge XT effects bank. it even has a bank of airwindows effects. i love airwindows but installing 37 smol effects just clutters everything. https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/

Me too I really wish LFX-1310 came back in 64bit version. It's limitations make such a great workflow.
