It sounds here but only at high velocity. Perhaps we have a different velocity response curve on our controllers.

I've shut the studio down for the day because I've got another IK Multi-Migraine.

If they were on top of the issues we wouldn't be finding all these issues. To be honest, in my opinion IK's quality control is abysmal and their support painfully inadequate.

The idea that we should take time out of our day to open a support ticket, put in our serial number, product version, OS version, DAW version etc etc etc every time just to report a simple issue that should have never gotten past beta testing is repugnant to me.

These issues are so simple to find it makes you wonder if IK even bothers to look for them.

Do we get compensated in some way for doing their quality control and beta testing for them? Or are we just paying for the "privilege" ? :?

In a recent Ubuntu Studio, I was able to load Syn 2 .exe with 4 layers, and on
a second virtual desktop, load Syn 1 .exe, with more sounds. This was using the
'Windows Audio' choice from their prefs, no audible latency playing layered pluks
and pads, to me, this is a sign that IK's fundamental coding is pretty strong.

But the issue of blurry gui is very apparent comparing the screenshots below.
(It's how each popped up, with the linux nVidia official 340 driver for older cards).
Much prefer the V1 gui. Same issue exists with Amplitube 4 Vs 5. Older is better.
Time to fix it under the hood.

But many sounds are great enough, might have to check my jampoints and change-jar
if there's still time on the clock :hihi:

Yeah, I'm using an old Yamaha PSR-45 as a MIDI controller. It does respond to velocity but doesn't have a velocity adjustment. Maybe I should use my Kurtzweil K-1000, (71-key?) that someone gifted me. I'm not sure which is newer. I think the K-1000 has more settings but they are hard to navigate I hear. I started teaching myself piano six months ago when I picked up a Yamaha YDP-142 for $300. As I learn more about synths (and I'm learning), I'll probably get a modern controller with tons of pads, sliders, and pots. I'm off the DAW for the day too. I try and go through all the presets on one synth per day. I agree that IK should have the product fully tested before releasing. There are three phases of testing these things should have been caught on in the SDLC. I would gladly do their user testing for a free upgrade or product (and the updates with fixes). I wish I could contribute more but I'm on the beginning of my journey with sound synthesis. I can tell others know what they are talking about when they can pinpoint the issue. IK seems to respond to the issues of not seeing the 32nd synth download and the multi presets that weren't even promised, did get delivered within 24 hours. I do agree with you that IK should have caught these issues especially with the software. The testing of presets wasn't thorough enough before release too. It would be cool to get gear credit or points for finding authentic issues and going through the trouble of raising a request.

That's a great idea! A bug bounty! :tu:

I think it would provide incentive to go through the hoops of raising a support request for them.

But what would you even use those Gear Credits for now?
Lately, IK has been releasing "CS" versions of software, but not actually adding them to the Custom Shop or letting you buy new CS models with your Gear Credits. It makes sense in IK land, I suppose... they already got your money for the Gear Credits, so why let you use them? Pay up all over again, sucker!

Maybe allow you to exchange Gear Credits for Jam Points?

That would only be equitable if they removed the 30% limit for using Jam Points.

ok, so... $35(with jam points) was a good deal for all that stuff.

My main issue... is trying to install.

I did a standard install using the product manager, and it seems to have only installed demo versions... of everything. (I was wondering why the installations were going so fast)

Was only getting a few patches and in some cases only like one wave set file, for the entire instrument.

I think it saw I had the demo already installed... and just re-installed the old demo stuff, without even thinking about installing the actual (newly purchased) full versions. Really weird...

Anyways, now I gotta go through each and every one and make sure I got the whole thing.

What's really messed up is I think the same thing happened to my Syntronik 1 files as well... I just didn't catch it back then. So now, of course... all those downloads are long since expired.

Well, thank you all of you for catching all these things and trying to get them fixed! (I have my hands full just downloading and installing this.)

So apparently Syntronik 2 has been insisting that it write everything to my C-Drive... which is strictly a small OS only drive.

Which just filled up... and now my computer is bitching at me.

Now I have to copy my Syntronik 2 folder over to another drive and specify that I want each instrument to be installed into that folder instead.

This has turned out to be a really shitty day for dealing with music app stuff. :dog:

I'd have to upgrade my laptop's external SSD an either upgrade one of my Desktop's Internal SSDs or install an additional internal SSD to hold the samples.

The $49 purchase would end up costing me about $300-350 in total.

I would be very interested in knowing what kind of compression IKM uses for their sample data, and how they are recording the audio. I don't think there is any benefit to recording these samples in 24-Bit 96k, for example. Just a waste of SSD Space and RAM.

Just Syntronik 2 weighs as much as the entire collection of Sample Data for Komplete 13 [Standard]. That's a bit ridiculous.

"Notifications for Nothing" are annoying. Blocking me in return is a good way to avoid this.

I have Syntronik on iPad (22 instruments I believe) and now I have Syntronik 2 max (GB) on my M1 Macs.
There is a huge difference in disc space here while some of the presets do sound different, most of them do not (I have old ears). Different does not mean better or worse. I really wonder about what is the added value of using less compression on the Mac version. Will there ever be a Syntronik 2 version for Ipad ? Since the new iPad use M1 too, this must be possible.

This is nuts. I've repaired that Syner-V missing patches like the guy in the video did. But then I noticed that in a different folder, right next to samples there is another one with bunch of new syner-v patches.

So I copied them to the Sample folder as well. But what is weird is that on IK's site it's written that there are over 200 patches for Syner-V, and in that folder I can see only 170+. So are there any missing ones? I don't even bother myself looking at other synths. I'll just work with what I got, but this is total mess, and only upside of things is that it was cheap.

The IK Product Manager user manual describes how to set the folder to be used for downloads and how to Install libraries to any location you wish. Remember to back up the downloads somewhere so you do not need to download them again.
