Now I find myself wanting an Analog Four mk2 in addition to my Digitakt, RYTM mk2, and Model: Cycles, which I can't seem to part with. I think I'm officially an Elektron fanboy now. Is there a cure or am I just destined to go ahead and buy the Syntak, Digitone, Octatrack mk2, etc etc etc right now and get it over with?

I have 2 Rytm's... so once you have one of each, you are not done! hehehe

The Digitone is my second favorite after the Rytm.

I was able to stop pretty easily at RYTM and Analog Four. All the rest are great, but can easily be substituted with various plugins.

I don't know if you are into Overbridge and stuff, but after the initial catastrophic release, it's damn solid these days. Just being able to stream the separate channels directly into your DAW is incredibly useful.

Yeah, I’ve been using Overbridge with my Digitakt and RYTM and it’s really nicely done. Very similar to the way my Virus TI2 integrated with my DAWs, maybe even better!

Yeah! I'm in the camp that think they actually do it better. Elektron should release a plain mixer/streaming hub where you can just hook up all the hw. I mean, that will never happen as Elektron never does what one might expect. But that would be an instant buy from me.

I’ve had a rytm mk2 for over a year now and absolutely love it. Up there as one of my fav bits of gear ever owned and I can’t see myself getting rid of it like I have with other gear. The nuts thing is I still feel like I’m only truly half way (if that) to using the full potential of it.

From the description of your needs it sounds perfect for you. Whether you like the sound or not is personal preference, and you can be as vanilla or experimental as you can imagine with it. I really like the base sound and there is a lot of scope for experimentation, that’s before even layering samples which sound great through the analog signal chain.

I used to have an Analog Keys but I got rid of it because of the 20ms latency Overbridge seemed to add to everything in Ableton. Would love to get back into the Elektron stuff, have they reduced latency, or is it possible to use the VST editor and analogue audio only to minimise it?

I don't think so - but then again I'm not 100%. I only use the OB to stream the channels into separate stems.
