did the kp4 have on the fly looping?
Ive only got the KP3 and the original miniKP, but the KP3 has a handful of loop effects, as well as sampling and playing back via each pad as looped or one-shot.
The miniKP has pretty much the same set of loop effects, but no sampling.
The KP4/quad seems to have a looper, but its one of the options for the first in a chain of 4 effects in series, and I dont think it has sampling either.
ah, was that the 3 you had? misremembered that! wonder if mines 2 or the original? been a while, might dig it out later now though.

Not sure if I am understanding what you've written regarding the Quad, to clarify and just between us all here, are you saying the seller might be wrong in saying the Quad will do what the denon does for looping please?

Post

No, Im not saying that, because Ive not used the Denon or the Quad.

What Im saying is that the KP3 has sampling built-in, and that each of the four sample pads can play back samples as one-shot or looped. The output of those pads (and/or the input of the KP3) gets mixed through the single effects unit. That effects unit includes several looping type effects activated/controlled from the XY grid.
(And the miniKP is effectively that effects unit and XY grid,so can do (some of) those looping effects)

Im also saying that i dont think the Quad has the pad-based sampling, but it does have 4 sequential effects units, the first of which can be set to be a looper, which I assume is similar to those of the earlier KPs.

The manual for the Quad is on the Korg website, you'll probably find it best to check out what it says for yourself.

Example of the miniKP looping...

Thanks, to me, that doesn't sound anything like the denon's loops. This Quad video looks like it will do what I need for looping:

The 'sound' of the Denon wasnt why I posted that, this was:
Thx, from all of the different Kaoss models I have seen demos of, looks like its only the Quad which does the looping on the fly?
That was the mini-KP doing on-the-fly looping.
