Oh hey there Dirk, thanks for coming to my aid again. If you might have seen my other thread I got the Hardware option now settled and looking to settle the plugin option to be done with this.
Since Instalooper cannot work with my Reaper project and I cannot find anyone anywhere even though willing to pay someone to troubleshoot the issue, seems Melda Super Lopper might be my final possible shot to get what I need as I have tried I think every plugin out there.
Looking at the generic interface of melda here:
https://i.postimg.cc/g0H304zq/Screen-Sh ... -25-AM.png
See how that is laid out with individual tracks? I am wondering if it might be possible in any way to configure it's layout similar to Instalooper:
https://i.postimg.cc/9XrLQ4SR/Screen-Sh ... -39-AM.png
where I can setup 6 bars individually [1 bar, 1/2, 1/4, 16, 1/16, 1/3 in Melda so I can click on each to trigger. can Melda's interface be setup like this please?

Uncheck All loops same length...
I had a go for a project some time ago and finally did the looping in plain Bitwig, I am not an expert for MSuperlooper.
Anyway, if you ask for a different layout of a software, expect that the devs won't take you serious. They will not reprogram the plugin for a single customer. Better ask what you want to achieve in the first place... You can explain how the competitor can do something which you want to do as well. Work flows in comparable tools can be simply different... I bet you would get the help you need then...

Right, I did not ask them to redesign anything. I asked them if Melda's interface can allow me to trigger those different loop sizes on the same screen [UI] in any way as with instalooper?Tj Shredder wrote: Thu Jun 02, 2022 2:25 pm Uncheck All loops same length...

Reason being, I will need to use Touchosc on my phone to trigger each of those loops just by clicking one button for each of the loops.

Nope I don't think that's what you're looking for. I don't have Instalooper but am very surprised it can't work in Reaper. Every other looper I've tried works fine in Reaper. It's all about understanding routing the signals in Reaper.
You can use Superlooper on an individual track, or make an effects send or even put it on the master track. You can only trigger 1 track at a time, those are meant for variations of loops really.
I'd suggest looking through some Kenny tutorials, and I'm not surprised he doesn't respond to email requests, he's a busy guy. By the way Reaper has a Looper built in too. And Kenny's got a couple tutorials on it.
Here's one on the built in looper:
And midi control:
Here's one on sends:
Good luck,
Dirk

It's not that instalooper does not work with reaper, it works fine if used over a track in Reaper, it just doesn't work with "my" project, the other loopers work with my project only the Instalooper doesn't.
I have thought about opening 5 instances of any looper which will work in my project but this will over populate my screen but might be the only option if I can't get Melda to show 5 clickable loops in its GUI.

You can use next and previous to view more than 4 tracks in Superlooper.
But the screen will only show 4 at a time, plus their variations.
Audio Damage also makes Enso another similar device.

How about a freebie Glitch?
You need QubasePro to do Loopmash.
I guess perhaps I still don't understand your specific work flow well enough?

I think the basic issue here with Reaper is the "tracks" issue which is why is why Instalooper is having issues with my project. I think too that I am not understanding exactly what tracks fundamentally mean in DAWS?
My Reaper project does not involve playing tracks [mp3 tunes] in Reaper itself. My Reaper project is setup to only add VST fx over the mp3's playing in whatever DJ softwares or mp3 players or online music [Spotify, youtube e.t.c].
So my Reaper project is setup with VAC to be the final Output coming out of my PC's headphones jack. This allows me to add the VST effects in Reaper to the mp3's playing in whatever source I should be playing them from in my pc. In other words, Reaper is only being used as a VST Host. I can't explain this any better I think.
"Tracks" for me means mp3, so when I say I am playing a track this means to me I am playing an mp3. Now, using Superlooper as an example these 4 tracks showing in it's GUI, those are 4 '"tunes" or in my case mp3's
right? If yes, I am wondering if those 4 tracks can be edited to show 4 Loop sizes and parameters like Instalooper because that is all I need in any looper plugin, the GUI to show 4-6 loop sizes and parameters with one button to activate each loop size.
Yeah that sucks with the loopmash, I had contacted Steinberg and they told me the deal. That software had a similar layout to Instalooper where I would have been able to simply click on the different loops at the bottom of the GUI.

My first suggestion is to get an external sound card, internal is not the way to go, same with headphone outs, not a really good solution. Most internal cards will be the weakest link, and cost the manufacturer maybe 5 cents. New quality interfaces can be had starting at about $100 new.
Why not play the MP3's within Reaper? Also a higher resolution lossless format will sound better too.
It sounds to me like you're looking for a sampler not a looper. The looper is mostly meant for recording live on the fly. You record something into the channel/track, and manipulate from there. The looper is just recording whatever you send it.
Tracks to me mean a single recorded channel (mono or stereo), like from a mixing console, with the ability to add effects to each individual track/channel and mix them. I would call them Backing Tracks in your situation.
Here's a video showing typical live Super Looper style looping, I get the feeling this is Not the way you are using it.

Reaper does not have the options for playing mp3's the way my DJ and other softwares do it.
A sampler to my knowledge means having to record audio first then playback, that is not what I want. if you take Serato DJ or any other top dj softwares each deck has the same options for 1/2,14, 1/8 e.t.c beats to simply click on to loop so yes looping on the fly like this just like Instalooper is what I need.
