World ended in 2012. It took us until 2016 to realise.

i think its more, we are getting old, so more people we have looked up to over our lives, will probably start to die off.
all part of lifes rich tapestry.

Aye, and there's no doubt lots more wrong with 2022 that probably belongs in HPC...

536 was a bad year.
1348 was grim.
1816, 1918 and 1943 were rather horrific too.

But, the OP's point is well made: there's been some fantastic musicians leaving us during the first half of the year already :(

That's why for me Mira Calix was the saddest loss as she just seemed to be developing her creative potential and was such a trail blazer

f**k this whole year being bad drama.

These are some turbulent times and without going into hydepark territory, I hope we’re all prepared to handle these times today and moving forward, living up the best of every moment that we can.

Nothing is promised except that non of us live forever. Stay thankful and appreciative for the legacies some leave behind.

Better to make some noise and have fun doing it.

I have joked before that when they turned on the Large Hadron Collider, the universe split and we wound up in the wrong timeline.

I mean, not everything is horrible. I still try to make the best of my own life where possible and I recognize, things are a lot better both worldwide and personally than they could have been. But they're also dumber and crueler and more rotten than they could be too. Overall I feel like we live in "interesting times" as the supposed Chinese curse says. And I don't predict seeing more stable, calm, historically uneventful times coming in the near future either.

Not a musician, so off topic (never stopped me before...)..

As a big cricket fan I found the untimely death of Shane Warne really sad. A true sporting legend.
