I prefer controllers but the protocols defined by DAW are not enough powerful or open. Remote (Reason) is great but half supported by RS themself, less by controller manufacturers. Push 2 is very good till you only use native Live devices. KK from NI are just a joke

You might be able to sell your controller idea to a Japanese game development company: And have them supply you with free multiwheels for life! Though, now it sounds like a JML product.
