EDIT: it is a spectral-granular synth... (and will work in combi with...)
EDIT 2: how the decompostion works? (not quite awake yet...)

Check this thread over at VIC where Peter has been posting continuous updates on Novum since February:

He gives a very detailed technical explanation at some point.

I remember asking if Abyss would get some sort of sample import/resynthesis not too long ago and users responded why would I want that in the most KVR fashion... Well I guess Dawesome had this under their sleeves the whole time. Can't wait!

Going to assume it absolutely destroys the CPU with all that granular stuff going on. Reminds me of the soundtrack stuff from Native Instruments like the light trilogy. With the right samples, it would fit right into that market.

It was written in the VI-Control thread that it's pretty reasonable on cpu.egbert101 wrote: Mon Jun 06, 2022 9:45 pm Going to assume it absolutely destroys the CPU with all that granular stuff going on. Excuse me while I pick up my jaw from the floor. Wow, that’s the kind of radical sound design that really intrigues me. Dawesome’s Abyss is fantastic and this new synth sounds cutting-edge. Thanks to Databroth for showcasing it!!
