One:
IS there a setting for the matrix editor that is similar to Cubase 5x’s Drum Roll editor? Are we lowly Express Users expected to edit our drums piano key style?
Two:
IS there a way to access the hyper edit definition “all velocities” using the hyper draw window within the matrix editor, not unlike the velocity editor in the Cubase 5x piano/drum roll?
thanks in advance for any tips!

One: I'm not familiar with Cubase SX - sorry.
Two: Open both editors, link them, then position and size them to taste.

ok maybe I should ask this: Is there any alternative to the matrix editor's piano key style? In cubase there was an option that listed drum map values on the side in the place of keys and displayed notes as small diamonds instead of lenghtwise rectangular bars to represent the percusive nature of the sounds... Any feature like this in logic 7 express?

Ah... I see. Not in Hyper Edit, no.
I think the best way to work like this is to have two linked editors open at the same time - Hyper and Matrix. That way, any note you select in one, will be selected in the other. And each editor can have its own default tool.
Hope this helps.

yeah... good point about the linking though I'll give that a try. What I really wish they'd change is to make two drawing tools, one that can do a single note per click and one that does a string of notes as you drag like the current tool behaves. That would make it easyer...
I am, I admit, waiting for my legitimate copy to come in the mail
Theres a few things I know will behave much more stable when I aint using an embarasing crack that my roomie found. I'll probly have more educated questions later.
Thanks for your help!
