It's not related to restoring any already conformed library to its previous state.
I'm being very slow in understanding, sorry - can you bullet point the steps you've made?
Sure:
* go to the options
* click 'X' near 'Shared' folder (or 'User' folder)

How one is able to add something into that list or restore removed folder(s)? I'm just to dumb to figure it out, it seems. :dog:

It´s strange though how there´s a lot of people in music forums complaining about Omnisphere tagging issues and 3rd party libraries´ "all over the place tagging", and so few people want to spend a few $ to remedy the issue.

Maybe people would really rather want to have one more soundset instead of a tool that doesn´t make any sound - maybe it´s just hard to become known enough.

Have you considered offering OmniTag in cooperation with PluginGuru? Skippy is a nice guy, and sure open for a talk. Ok, you basically have a tool that remedies his tagging issues :hihi: ... but if he added a "+Omnitag +$9.99" option to his soundsets, that might help. His Omnisphere soundsets seem to sell rather well.
Thanks! (For anyone who doesn't know, I helped develop the product, but all the actual coding and insanely hard work is Marcus from Chromatic Wave)

I don't think Skippy is a big fan, he is very specific in how he likes his libraries laid out. We've made sure that removing prefixes (Spectrasonics don't have them, except for their Hardware Profile patches) is optional, which is something he's very concerned about.

Maybe there is another developer out there though who would like to take it on? Get in touch!

We do have a small soundset library bundled with it. Perhaps it should have been 600 patches and not 60...

Ah great, got you.

Back on the main screen, click a library and then IGNORE.

Then if you later want to restore something from it again, go into options and click the X next to the library. It now reappears in the main window, and you can once again get the history and restore from there.

Great, thanks. But you are not able to restore those default locations "Shared" and "User" if you remove them?

If you mean within Omnitag, then yes (temporarily). IGNORE doesn't affect anything on disk or anything Omnitag has already done, it's just a convenience to stop it acting on anything you want to exclude from its operations going forward. So OT removes the folders from the main list - that's what IGNORE is supposed to do, meaning you can't do any other operations on them. But as described you also put them back again by taking them off the IGNORE list and restore at will.

(Hope that answers the question!)

Thanks again. I understand that you are able to ignore specific libraries and move them back and forth into ignored list. But I'm unable to restore default ignored location of User and Shared folders in my STEAM folder. It's probably nothing important but my impression is when you once removed default contents of the 'Ignored folders' list, you are unable to get them back there to 'inform' OmniTag to not scan these folders at all.

I'm unable to bring back Shared folder to the list - not any particular library (what you've described in details :tu: ).
I hope I've made myself clear now  It's nothing important, OmniTag is pure Gold, I like it. I don't own that much libraries now, but it most probably will change - sooner than I think.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Huh - I can definitely remove User at will here, but I agree I can't put back Shared. There again, I don't have a shared folder (which might explain it!), so that doesn't really concern me.... Marcus may be able to chip in when he next checks in.

LoveEnigma18 wrote: Mon Jun 06, 2022 10:08 am The number of tags in Omnisphere 2 is insane and makes it a bit tedious to work with, especially after getting used to Nexus4.

If I understand correctly, this tool only works with 3rd party libraries, am I right?

Is there a way to streamline the tags of the entire library (all factory + 3rd party + Sonic Extensions)?
Yes, it can only ever be 3rd party only, their licensing precludes modifying their own stuff (besides any technical complications). Given that those can never change, it seemed the only sane way to continue is to make 3rd party stuff conform to their standards. With every developer doing their own different thing, it's just completely unmanageable.
Thanks, that makes sense. Great job with this software considering Omnisphere is one of the most popular synth plugins out there and there are tons of people making libraries for it.

I don't have much 3rd party libraries, so unfortunately, I am not sure I am ready to buy this now.

The only way to add folders to the 'ignore list' is to click on the 'Ignore' button next to a library in the main screen.

By default, OT ignores 'Sharing' and 'User' folders. If you don't have those on your system, and you removed them from the ignore list, there is no way to add them back. (unless you create those folders, add to ignore, and then delete)

Or you can reset OT to factory default by deleting the contents of the following folder on Windows:
C:\Users\marcl\AppData\Local\Chromatic_Wave_Software_I

There is a preferences file on Mac somewhere too. Don't remember exactly where it is, but you can trash that and that will reset OT as well which will restore those default ignore folders.

John was sadly a very vocal critic of OT when I first released it - to the point of publicly accusing me of violating his license agreement on my Facebook page.

I did speak with him and put in a feature that preserves patch prefixes (he wasn't happy OT removed them), so maybe he doesn't hate me anymore? LOL

But it was a sad experience for me to be publicly castigated by someone as well-known and respected as John. :(

But he is quite ok with, unlike spectrasonics, sticking his capitalized Prefix in front of every patch..
I got rid of them the minute I bought omnitag.

Wow, that´s a strange experience... actually I reinstalled the libraries I bought from him only after OmniTag came out, "clever" tags are so annoying because every developer comes up with some and then there´s 50 ways to tag a "warm pad".

Btw, is there an easy way to grab the latest version before it disappears? It seems there was one after my 2.0.7972...

Sent you a PM. If anyone else needs a download link, contact me and I'll get you one. Can't post them publicly or might get my bandwidth throttled by Shopify.

Personally I hate prefixes and don’t understand why anyone would add them to Omnisphere patches when it has a tagging system (albeit with far too many options but you don’t have to use them all)
