What does everyone think so far about what Presonus is doing. See any changes so far? Anything stick out. I notice staff from Presonus aren't that interactive like they once were. Also, I notice Presonus software has been hiring a lot.
Was thinking what kind of products they would do under Fender. How much can you push of the guitar stuff. I thought IK Multimedia own that market. Studio One's Ampire is not that good.

Seems like it's going fine.

Yeah, Ampire is not bad but not great either. I hope they develop better amp sims.
EDIT: I started listening to the interview. The guy says S1 has 3 million uses.

First of all you need to realize that Presonus Audio Electronics, which designs the hardware and is located in the USA is a completely separate company from Presonus Software which is located in Berlin and develops Studio One and other Presonus branded software products. Fender may or may not own this company. I used to work for Presonus, (USA), and I still know people on the inside.
From what they've told me I think Studio One will continue to be developed as it always has been and the biggest changes we will likely see will be in Fender and Presonus branded hardware.
They have already begun merging the advertising for the hardware of both brands.

They're separate divisions, not separate companies. The software division of course was subject to the merger. However, I don't think we'll see any major changes there.
Perhaps we'll see guitar amps with direct USB ins & outs. Hear your guitar through the amp while recording the DI signal, then reamp out of the computer to record the amp with a mic, all via USB. That would actually be really cool, so it probably won't happen.

Any ideas to what kind of products they would come out with hardware wise? Guitar only stuff would piss people off, since the customer base is diverse.CapnLockheed wrote: Fri Jun 03, 2022 4:26 pm First of all you need to realize that Presonus Audio Electronics, which designs the hardware and is located in the USA is a completely separate company from Presonus Software which is located in Berlin and develops Studio One and other Presonus branded software products. They are behind their regular release cycle on Studio One and its been 6 months since 5.5
So 5.6 could be out in about a month, if not maybe version 6 towards the end of the year.
I do not think Fender will have any influence on how it will progress. They are probably more interested on the hardware side but we are yet to see the fruits of the buy out.

The next version 6 will be a limited vintage special american professional custom shop edition. Which is the same as 5.5, but with a sunburst color scheme and double the price. And as soon as they find somebody almost famous using it, there will be a signature edition.

I guess you must be thinking of Magix, Ableton or Bitwig, which are all in Berlin. Presonus Software is however Hamburg-based, like Steinberg (but the main office of Presonus Software is somewhere in Ireland; for tax-reasons, I assume).CapnLockheed wrote: Fri Jun 03, 2022 4:26 pm First of all you need to realize that Presonus Audio Electronics, which designs the hardware and is located in the USA is a completely separate company from Presonus Software which is located in Berlin and develops Studio One and other Presonus branded software products.
Wew can say for sure that it belongs to Fender now either way though:

As of July 7 - v5 of Studio One will be officially 2 years old - but if we look at historical data:
V1->V2 = 764 days
V2->V3 = 1297 days
V3->V4 = 1098 days
V4->V5 = 777 days
V5->V6 = ???
If we average these release windows we get 984 days - so by the averages - putting V6 somewhere out in March of 2023.
I believe it will be out sooner - I am guessing fall of 2022. Also read somewhere that there supposedly is a 5.6.x in the pipeline as well - which I would have expected to drop by now - it's not like 5.5.2 is perfect by any means.
Cheers
