Got excited about DrumComputer and now I'm upset.

I've had similar sentiments, a desire for a better melding between the crispness and customisability of synthesised percussion, and expressive qualities. I think there's a lot of scope for new instruments in this area.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

The open hat sounds ok, the rest not so unique.martiu wrote: Mon Jun 06, 2022 11:04 pm here i made you a small 4 sec loop![]()

Youtube is giving me a few more examples and I'm liking Chromaphone 3.
Alright I'm downloading this thing.

Holy s*** Chromaphone is awesome. I can finally make music in this genre!... basically 100% inspired by Age of Empires II soundtrack. The only thing that is not Chromaphone is that I layered a few drum loops together, but you hear a lot of Chromaphone's drums as well.
How's that for a 4 second loop?

The problem with Drummaxx is that it's mono. They could easily have made it stereo by making the noise sources stereo.

Here you are ,made it in reaktor a coupe of years ago .rod_zero wrote: Tue Jun 07, 2022 4:52 am One feature drum synths plugins lack and would be awesome, drummaxx from IL had this, a single drum instance.
Sometimes you want some parts ungrouped or load them in ableton live drum racks in a single pad (same for bitwig) also facilitating navigation with with Push.
A microtonic clone +some extras ( partials ,pow, new dist algos etc..)
There's also a single voice instance which you can play chromatically

I quite agree. There's a huge lack of drum synths out there at the moment. Something about the sound of Drum Computer just feels off, like it's muffled or something. Hard to explain. Desperately wanting something to create original drum samples with, so much so that I'm probably going to go the hardware route.

Hi!
Just stopping in to say thanks for the recommendations. Some I weren’t familiar with. Micro tonic is my go to and I enjoy it a lot, but always looking.
. I like noise engineering stuff, but seemed to have missed the ‘percussion synth’.

If i dont want to layer samples and do purely synthesis, this one is pretty neat.
Otherwise fm8, or massive x with comb filter.
