Now that Softube Central has finally finished, I can say that I can work with that sound. Quite like it :)

Once again same here too.

pretty sure this is the only emulation that also runs in Softube's modular system - that would seem to be a strong motivation for development
At least until Cherry Audio make one that runs in their Voltage Modular system.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

If only Voltage Modular wasn't so CPU inefficient... It's the absolute worst. I have a lot of modules for it but really dislike using it because of that

Softube is extremely talented and I was blown away by Model 72, but they should start choosing their synths more carefully. The golden example to follow on synth selection is XILS-Lab. We don't need more rehash of synths perfected by other developers and TAL already does the perfect Roland 80s line. At least with Softube's Minimoog, you're able to transform it into a Moog Modular within Softube Modular. That is what made a Minimoog rehash worthwhile but the SH-101, I just don't see the point.

But their Model 82 offers the same use in their modular system (and afaik the mini moog and the moog modular aren't identical in components...granted there is a lot of overlap though).

And the thing is everyone wants different synths..
I don't own any XILS for instance because I have zero interest in any of the synths they have recreated. Somone on gearspace wanted: "Crumar DS2, Korg PSS-3100, Siel Orchestra".. I personally have zero interest in any of those.
Someone mentioned an MS-20 here, but aren't other people saying the new Arturia MS-20 is fantastic?

Me? I agree with you, Tal already did the 101... give me a jupiter 6 or a jupter 4 or an oberheim ob-x (yes I have obsession but I am not convinced by it), a CS-80.

I assume you're joking and didn't you see Arturia just reworked their ancient CS-80 emulation several weeks ago? Also Synapse Obsession does not emulate the OB-X.

XILS synths are some of the best. Their Roland VP-330 is spot on and their Moog Polymoog is underrated and delivers some of the best pads and strings I've heard.

They probably hesitate to do something "secret tip". It's much more likely that people will buy an emulation of a well known synth.

Sorry I meant a jupiter 6 not 8.

I am yet to be impressed by an Arturia synth sorry. (and I own Pigments)
I also tried the sonicprojects one.. nope..not impressed at all either..
don't think I tried the memorymoon one though, isn't that only pc? (Win 32 and 64 bit
No Mac version)

yeah I know it does the OB-XA not the OB-X.... but they are very similar (yes I know of the switch from sem to curtis), I am way more impressed with gforce's ob-e for what I consider the oberheim sound.

I don't remember which ones I have demoed over the years, but that I don't own any of them or even remember which ones I demoed.. well.

different strokes for different folks.
which I guess is part of the issue softube faces.
