Hi, I'd like to ask you if the vibraslap belongs to the shaker group?

In my book it's just something in the arsenal of a percussionist. More of an effect sound, its duration is too long for a shaker. A shaker you'd shake in 8ths, vibraslapping more than once in 16 bars is overdoing it.
