Whats your favorite plugin you use to make things sound satisfyingly "analog" ?

Title says it all.
I do have RC Color which I picked up recently, but is there anything else that you have found makes thing satisfyingly analog.
E.g. if I am making a pad synth sound.
edit: specificly the natural pitch drifting, the warmth, the lack of digital sharpness. rather than the vinyl crackle and hiss noise etc.

So many different flavours, you really have to be more specific.
I like Fuse Audio stuff and True Iron for transformer and tube saturation. Wavesfactory Cassette is fun for grungy home tape, lots of good options for more hi-fi tape.
I'm not really into vinyl crackle but that's a whole thing too.

Make up your mind. Do you want satisfying or do you want analog ?

I use Chow Tape Model for all this, tape saturation, wow and flutter, even things like tape dropouts if you wanted that, all very controllable. Klanghelms SDRR is great for saturation and distortion. The tube model warms things up lovely.MasterTuner wrote: Wed Jun 08, 2022 2:53 pm Specific: the natural pitch drifting, the warmth, the lack of digital sharpness. rather than the vinyl crackle and hiss noise etc.

I use Neold Warble when tracking, 0.2-0.4% wow & flutter with resonant filters and subtle dirt to taste, helps digital synths get a little "outside the lines" in a subtle but additive way as tracks stack up.

This thread will never end as everyone will have a different interpretation.
For me I have a couple of tricks to try and help sounds sound and feel more 'present', as this extra solidity of sounds is the main area I think analog still has an edge in.

As someone who grew up using analog gear and recording to multi-track open real and cassette tape it boggles my mind why anyone would want to go back to the days of "wow and flutter" and mud (which some people call warmth) and smear and noise and.....
To each his own but I'll just never get the desire to go back to a time that was in no way superior to the amazing tools we have at our disposal these days.
This constant search for "analog" just baffles me......

It's interesting what people think "analog" sounds like (whether they say they hate it, or whether they're seeking it out).
It's usually either a worst-case example, or an exaggerated vaporwave idealized version of analog.
Kind of like if you thought "digital" means "sounds like a Casio SK-1."
(EDIT: I am guilty of this too. I don't bother with tape sim plugins that have realistic amounts of wow and flutter and saturation because that's entirely too subtle to matter. I want extreme ones where I can take the effect way too far and go all William Basinski on that shit. Things like Kazrog True Iron leave me cold because it's probably too "true", give me obvious and heavy saturation that I can dial in where I want it.)

Yeah, as an old school engineer, it is interesting to watch the current fascination with the old equipment. Older guys will know we spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get the clearest, most pristine recordings we could possibly muster. Now, there's a market for noise! In keeping with the premise of this forum entry, I do like IK Multimedia's Tascam 388 sim. If anything, it brings back heartfelt memories.
If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit.
