Yesterday I made first polyphonic patch of Model 82 using Modular (fyi its also in sale 49$). It is very interesting and leads easily to Mono/Poly type usage, because it is so easy (easier than not actually) to adjust and modify all VCO's and filters individually. For example I had separate LFO:s to each VCO.

I am not sure which is easiest way to combine the control for separate VCF's under one knob. I used not very elegant way with multiples and Quad offset.

Edit. Dash Glitch shows that Vital is pretty good synth too at recreating sounds
That video was debunked. And i see that he deleted it now.

Perfectly explained here :

Thanks. I watched the Starsky Carr's video too. Maybe Dash Glitch will update his conclusions later.

Wish Dash Glitch would stick to videos of what he's good at, which is making psy trance. At the very least have the balls to keep the video up there and create a new one noting the problems with the old one. Unless of course Softube threatened legal action.

I highly doubt that. ;)

If anything, they won't give him a free ride next time.

[Nevermind.. The code was shared already; didn't see there was a page 8]

Yeah I doubt it as well. Was just trying to think up a reason why he would have pulled the video vs. just saying hey yeah I screwed up. Sorry. But that takes a pretty big set of balls that I find most people just don't have.

Post

The shame was too big. :D

Well, he was wrong about several things. Also about those peaks on the waveforms, which aren't audible, and only there because of the way the waveforms are being generated digitally.

I think Starsky Carr's comparisons are pretty good.

I still own two SH-101's and I don't care which software is more accurate. What is the SH-101? It is a CEM 3340 VCO and a Roland VCF/VCA. Nothing wrong with that, but also, so what? What made it great, IMNSHO, is how great it was to use live, and no software can be that.
This is a great video about using a SH-101 live

Funny you should post this. I remember watching Mathew Jonson play live with Cobblestone Jazz in Victoria, BC, about 20 years ago, making great use of this synth. That's when I fell in love with the SH-101.

Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Jun 07, 2022 10:04 am There are others that they should focus their efforts on like the MS-20.
Arturia just made an MS-20 that sounds awesome. I guess it's not TAL specifically, but I don't understand the requirement since TAL aren't the best synth emulator company or even in the top 3 IMO.
I have to differ with you on this. I do put Tal up in my top 3, which would be Softube, Synapse and Tal. Although u-he should be in there as well. For me, as far as Analog, Arturia's good, but comes after all those and NI, GForce, Audiorealism, SonicProjects, D16, and probably some others (like bx_oberhausen). The MS-20 is nice but can't properly do what the hardware does. It's easy to match some sounds but isn't a proper replacement like many of these other ones can be.

Nice! His track Marionette is one of my favorites, and it's all SH-101, if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks. The problem was people aren’t typing “discount code” so when I searched it didn’t come up.

Yes indeed, it's a classic! Pure 101 goodness there.

But you're using generalizations very often, which explains why you're quite wrong...very often as well.
I've never heard FX on a soft synth that are as good as those I already owned.

There are some synths that have pretty good or useable fx, and I do use them, but...
