I haven't used a forum much before and I usually avoid, however I think a community to help me better myself in learning would be beneficial at the moment. :ud:

Congrats on making your first post here. Just try to keep chill and respectful and stay away from people who seem confrontational and you will probably learn a lot. I didn't know much on the technical side when I joined and I've learned a lot here.

Greetings.
Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

Welcome to KVR! There's nothing to be concerned about here, just a bunch of us friendly nerds who like to talk too much about making music. :phones:  And yes, as mentioned, there are definitely a few people here who have no life and just like to argue and ruin the vibe for everyone, but they're easy enough to spot and ignore.

What are you hoping to learn?
Logic Pro | LUNA Pro | OB-X8 | Prophet 6 | OB-6 | Rev2 | TEO-5 | Pro 3 | SE-1X | Minitaur | Deepmind 12D | Integra-7 | TR-1000 | Analog RYTM mk2 | Digitakt 2 | TD-3 MO | TD-3 | Maschine+

Thank you all!

Beware of those with excessive numbers of posts! You can just imagine how all that time in a chat affects brain development! Don't let that happen to you!!! :nutter:

There is certainly some of that advice to be had around here!

Just keep in mind that the trance and EBM producers tend to have different "rules" than the pop/rock songwriters ;-) If you can navigate that and understand why they give conflicting advice you'll be well on your way to mix anything :-)

Hehe. I've been meaning to add it to my signature.

Enjoy your stay!

Welcome.
Most people here are fine, but if you find some people make you nervous or are too annoying, there is an ignore feature which will hide all of that person's posts.
Just putting a dozen or so people on ignore can really help clean up the forum.

Welcome! I usually find there is lots of advice to be had with a bit of digging if you don’t feel like asking but that said the vast VAST majority of people on here are really decent and helpful. Anyone who is confrontational can usually be spotted a mile off, and usually seems to get themselves banned.

a thread like this should never be, I apologize to you Severa and ftr I am a mod here, feel free to call me John. This site should be known for the community and not the toxic side and it is on me that that reputation isnt intact...but there have been changes as we are committed to keeping this place as nontoxic as possible.

Recently several members have used common gaslighting accusing me of being too sensitive when people talk to me in a way I dont like. What they fail to see is it isnt about me, it is about threads like this. The truth is they shouldnt be talking to anyone they way they talk to me, including me, not especially me as they try to make it appear.
Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will result in your post being edited / deleted, and you may be issued with a warning and / or a ban.
(there is the threshold for EVERYONE)

Again I am sorry that a forum makes you nervous, there is so much to learn and this site has so many great members it breaks my heart to see this. Please use the report button if you have any issues and welcome :)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
