Is Model 72 on sale anywhere else for $49?

Softube sales are very fleeting and unpredictable, the only time Model 72 has been at that price, so far, was Softube's own easter-egg-hunt sale back at easter. It'll *probably* be on sale for that again, maybe the 4th July sales.

I'm pretty sure I saw that sale 2 times already. The last time, I bought it for 49 €.

Why not getting Roland emulation? That would be a proper one :-)

To be honest, after everything I read here regarding the Roland Cloud, I don't think I'd want to go that way...

I know people are exaggerating frequently, but, it looks like these plugins are inefficient in terms of performance, and the Roland Cloud often doesn't works as it's supposed to do either.

Also, frankly, I'm a bit tired of these systems. If you already have half a dozen or more of these installation/activation managers, you're glad to have it an alternative way, like with Softube, where you can just download the installers, instead of having to use a manager software to install and activate.

Eh... It does login download and activate ilok doesn't it?

Yes. You still have to install the download manager though. Which I'm sure is handy when you have many Softube plugins, but, I prefer to download the single installers. Then I don't have to install an additional software.

I was more talking about the Roland Cloud.

f**k! This is where Softube's stupid naming system fails them. I'd been thinking this thread was about their MiniMoog synth and had no idea they have something new to offer. I only checked it out because I'm bored shitless at work. I'm not a huge 101 fan, having owned one from new back in the day, but I don't like Junos, either, yet I do like Model 84. So I'll try the demo of this and see what it's got to justify buying it. But if Rave says it's good, then I probably should just get it.

Actually, having a closer look at the spec, there's no unison so unless the Doubling works really, really well, I probably won't bother with this.

While we're at it, I'd highly recommend anyone take a look at Monoment Bass. It's a bit limited in some ways but, overall, it's got a really good sound and it does what it does very well. I reckon it's well worth the $55 they are asking at the moment. OTOH, Statement Lead was a disappointment, you should not bother with that.

I just finished going through all the presets and it's just as f**king awful as I remember the real thing being. I wouldn't use it if it was free. The doubler and the drive are both pretty useless and the three colours is a stupid gimmick. I'd take FBM's MonoFury over this every day of the week and twice on Sunday. It sounds better, it's way better featured and it uses bugger-all CPU. I've already unisntalled this thing, 15 minutes was more than enough.

:hihi:

I used to play with the freeware TAL-BassLine back in the days. Never quite got the hype either. I guess you gotta like the synth. It's not that it's bad per se, but, it's very limited, and I probably would always reach for other stuff.

Still waiting for someone to do an Andromeda, not that the Andromeda was an amazing synth, but the fact that no one has done a legit emulation yet, and I do think it has somewhat of a cult following. I do think Softube could pull it off, and whoever does it first, and does it right, could probably do very well with it regarding sales figures

The plugins sound great but they do feel from the early 2000's in UI and functionality.

The cloud, it also feels horrible for today standards.

Ah, but Softube synths are much less limited, if the Modular modules are taken into account ( I know, Softube are a bunch of sneaky so-and-so's for trying to get one to buy Modular ; and Modular does have its downsides ) But the Model 82 modules are really good, and as well as the offering the more obvious less-limited-synth configurations also offer the possibility of FM, filter FM and (audio freq.) PWM, for instance. Have a rather distinct sonic character too, when used for that.

Apart from that Model 82 sounds much better to me than it's counterparts from D16 and TAL. The filter in particular is very different on those three. Softube's easily the best imo.

Softube's do. Can be saved to file too. Also, the bender and LFO trigger ( CC1 ) can be unlinked.
