Yes!! Very underlooked and unique tool, probably the only granular « reverb » out here.

My one complaint about Puremagnetik is that their plugins seem to be released into the world to never see further development. The version numbers suggest minor fixes along the way, but has curiously been silent about M1 native support. Nothing. Most of their plugs seem to use the same framework, so it should be a wholesale change to uplift them. Strikes me as a developer who spreads himself too thin, and is easily bored by maintenance tasks compared to releasing the next new thing-a-ma-jig. Maybe Lore being open source will have a different dynamic.

Described as a granular synth (or spectral sampler), Dawesome's Novum is due this week and looks rather interesting. There's a thread about it in the instrument forum. Same developer behind Abyss for Tracktion.

eagerly awaited.... NOVUM....

Puremagnetik; they program in Csound, nothing wrong with it, and with cabbage you can also compile VST3 plugins... simple.. and perhaps also M1 native???? i don't know, i am on windows...

but that depends on Cabbage, a framework, to make visual plugins (yes.......), with Csound code.

Thanks. Was wondering what the underlying framework for Puremagnetik plugins was. That makes it even more inexplicable that there is no word about native M1 support, because it appears possible with the toolchain.

I once was curious & interested by the Puremagnetik plugins, but I was quickly lost in their way-too-many plugins portfolio with many plugins that all seem to basically do the same thing. I also stay away from developers that pull out plugins like every months, I rather prefer supporting devs with a vision on long-term plugins, with solid updates & constant improvements. They seem to vomit plugins one after the other and leave them there. No my cup of tea.

I think it’s well worth it to buy a few, but you really don’t need that many. They are super weird and they don’t always work correctly. I had an issue with one and the guy was super nice and just gave me another plugin. If they were expensive I’d agree with you, but for the cost of a lunch you can get some odd toy that is facing the to play with for an afternoon. (And maybe longer)

Also, I should add that a lot of their plugins come free with the purchase of their albums on Bandcamp. That’s how I get most of them. The music is really good.

Since I started this thread I’ve acquired Portal and Fragments. Both gems, IMO.

Output Portal is currently on sale at Thomann for £88.
https://www.thomann.de/gb/output_portal.htm

$96 has been the best price so far (excluding additional dealer discount if any), so I don't think you will get it for any lower than that unless you have some Output products and go for bundle upgrade. You could wait for the next 35% off sale on Output website.

Arturia Efx FRAGMENTS should be available for $49 at some point again. Hopefully even better for V Collection or FX Collection owners.

You would probably be aware of all this, but just in case.

This thread had me all excited to try Silo but at $179...yeesh

Never pay more than $30 at PA, a sale will be along in 5 minutes.

They're doing one now, rotating 'daily deal' type thing; if Silo's been done they'll possibly redo them all on the last day, I think they've done that before.

Thanks for the info. I am in no hurry for Portal so will hold out for a possible better price on Black Friday.

Checked my notes on Efx Fragments:
It seems Arturia Efx Fragments mostly percussive. CM gave it 10/10. Does not sound musical. On sale $49 PASSED. It can do rhythmic ambient. Output Portal is more powerful but more expensive.
https://output.com/products/portal The FX Collection 2 does not inspire me. $199 with Efx Fragments PASSED Better to get Portal by Output? I have Silo. One KVRist said Silo and Portal are superior. Even Simon did not make Fragments sound great. Quanta a VSTi by Audio Damage is similar."
So for the time being I will look into Efx Fragments after I purchase Portal
