Actually they do have a few products that do not allow Library Music use.
Library music is (usually) a compilation of songs that anyone can license for use in their multimedia production.. Typically it is used for advertising and even film/tv when there is not enough budget to hire a composer.

Library music = production music. The EULA wording is poor - "library of any kind" could refer to library music. As I said, I don't think that's the intent, just poor wording. (Some sample libraries specifically prohibit their use in library / production music, so this is far from an implausible scenario).chk071 wrote: Wed Jun 01, 2022 2:29 pm I don't know how you came up with "library music" (whatever that is), but, that clearly reads to me like you can' just use samples/content from Avenger, put it in your own virtual instrument, sampler, or sample library, and then sell it as yours. Which is pretty obvious.
You misunderstand the problem. I highly doubt Armin van Buuren would use an SQ or an Avenger / Nexus vocal sample. But ordinary users might very well do exactly that.chk071 wrote: Wed Jun 01, 2022 2:29 pm I highly doubt that Armin van Buuren wouldn't be able to use Avenger in his commercial music productions though, in most imaginable ways, if that's what your concern is about.
The point is - an EULA needs to be crystal clear as to what you can and can't do. I think what they mean by Para 2 is "SQ melodies or melodic vocal samples cannot be used in commercial productions". Arps are ok, "aaah" sounds are okay. If that is correct, people need to know the limits on use. But right now, that's not the wording anyway.

As guys like him heavily use Nexus, for example, your doubts are most probably wrong.noiseboyuk wrote: Wed Jun 01, 2022 2:48 pm You misunderstand the problem. I highly doubt Armin van Buuren would use an SQ or an Avenger / Nexus vocal sample. But ordinary users might very well do exactly that.
I agree. But, again, your guess is as good as mine, so, if you're in doubt, ask Vengeance Sound.noiseboyuk wrote: Wed Jun 01, 2022 2:48 pm If that is correct, people need to know the limits on use. But right now, that's not the wording anyway.
Discussing this in third person when the people responsible are even present, or an email address away, is kind of pointless, unless you just want to rant. If you have concerns about what you're allowed to do, and what not, then, ask them.

Manuel has said somewhere that it is supposed to apply to SQs, and said he didn't want to comment any further. I'm a big fan of Manuel, but that seems ridiculous to me - that we're meant to hunt down a forum post. Yes anyone can email for clarification, but why not CHANGE THE EULA TO BE CLEAR! That's the legally binding bit, not a forum post or an email.
Manuel, by all means feel free to chip in and correct me. These conversations will happen on forums every fortnight until there's something permanent in writing that is clear and makes sense.
(Armin van Buuren may use Nexus, but he surely wouldn't use an SQ tune. Kinda insulting. And if he did, I think he could be sued

Recently got Nexus, even though I already have Avenger, Omnisphere, Serum, and other synths.
But I love Nexus because it lets me quickly preview sounds, and sounds are production ready and very inspiring. Great reverb and delays and other effects.
Even tho Nexus has its sound slightly, it sounds kinda soft in terms of transients / punch, and is always needs log of cutting in the mids.

It could well be that they assigned a third party to draft the EULA.noiseboyuk wrote: Wed Jun 01, 2022 3:49 pm Manuel has said somewhere that it is supposed to apply to SQs, and said he didn't want to comment any further. Anyway, that's all speculation, and, anyone unsure about the EULA should email them.

Let’s say you buy Value Bundle + 10 additional XPs for a total of 1 000 USD, can you later upgrade to Complete Bundle for a discount that matches what you already own in Complete Bundle?

Not directly from their store AFAIK, you'd need to contact support and ask for it.Ohlson_M wrote: Mon Jun 13, 2022 8:02 pm Let’s say you buy Value Bundle + 10 additional XPs for a total of 1 000 USD, can you later upgrade to Complete Bundle for a discount that matches what you already own in Complete Bundle?

I've tried to ask customer support a few times if they would let me complete my bundle or some other small change to something or other and they wont budge one inch if they feel like it means they lose out on a single dollar. I mean they're a business so its up to them, but my requests weren't crazy and I've spent a LOT of money with them over the years, but I find them unwilling to bend even a little for customers. Anyway, I stopped spending with them completely.Ohlson_M wrote: Mon Jun 13, 2022 8:02 pm Let’s say you buy Value Bundle + 10 additional XPs for a total of 1 000 USD, can you later upgrade to Complete Bundle for a discount that matches what you already own in Complete Bundle?
I should add that years ago they were a little more helpful for customer requests, just a little, but enough to make you feel you were dealing with reasonable human beings.

I wonder if Nexus 'all packs' bundle is the most expensive VST instrument ever at almost 5 thousand pounds!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

You would be surprised. Lady Gaga's song "Judas" uses a Vengeance synth sequence for the chorus melodynoiseboyuk wrote: Wed Jun 01, 2022 2:48 pm

Famous DJ Snake Vocal Sample (Lean On etc) is straight from a Vengeance sample pack

If so - the lazy gits - I'm pretty sure they'll have done a special licensing deal for that as the regular license definitely precludes it. I know Spectrasonics do bespoke licenses for some of their sounds that fall outside their general use. In their case that's sounds used in a non-musical context, or isolated. Not sure if that included the famous LOST titles sound, I think so.andypryce wrote: Wed Jun 15, 2022 5:38 pm You would be surprised.
