Arturia DX7 V and Tracktion F'em

Arturia DX7 and Bazille.

I'd say Dexed too but I think it needs a resizble GUI (In between sizes and not blurry).

synclavier V

I've used and loved RP Blue2 synth for years and its just so powerful. Bazillle is obviously a monster as well. I'm finding Reason Studios Algoritm a blast to work with currently and I love its take on FM.

Exact Lite also is very nice FM synth especially if you are new to FM and want to learn it is a great starting point.

love the synclavier but it's a little more than an FM synth

I miss all the PPG synths. Each of them is unique in its own way and quite capable!
I managed to buy all of the iOS apps but only could afford two plugins. WaveGenerator has a neat sound that is clean, smooth yet gritty, and is a modern continuation of the classic PPG sound. The plugins sound nothing like most out there. I'm also angry that the Linplug plugins are gone, and I never had a chance to buy Spectral or Octopus.
Ah, Spectral is a great synth. LinPlug went out of business very shortly after I learned of its existence, but I did get Spectral. Did I forget to include it in my list earlier? (maybe I was only thinking of things which can be purchased now)

For those not familiar with it, Spectral is (was?) an FM synth with additive oscillators (each osc with two waveforms to morph between, plus some extras) and user-definable filters. What's interesting about the filters is they aren't true filters, per se, but essentially an offset to the partials of the additive oscillators, mimicking the sound of filters -- the post-filter signal can then be used as a modulator for FM, etc.

Each Oscillator and filter can be modulated by up to two modulation signals (so four modulation slots for each oscillator/filter pair). There are no preset algorithms a la DX, but freely routed with the aforementioned limitation. There are four oscillators and four filters (each filter also has a secondary offset LP for taking the edge off the high end if needed). Each oscillator and filter has their own dedicated AHDSR, plus there are *EDIT (correction:) three additional Mod envelopes plus Main Env and five LFOs, the speed and depth of which are also modulation targets.

If I could take any of my soft synths to put into hardware form (without it being a physical nightmare, like Bazille or Zebra would be, otherwise I might choose them, haha), this would be the one. I really hope someone can get the IP and keep it alive, it's a very nice synth.

bitwig phase-4 or bazille are my usual go to. Sometimes I do FM in the grid but usually only if I'm doing a 2-op plus goodies more buchla-esque patch (with lots of wavefolding, filters, etc) rather than DX emulation.

OPS7, Aurora FM, Nemesis. I could really care less what a synths feature set is like if it sounds bad, and lots of FM synths sound pretty bad for some reason. Like F'em. The 3 above are capable of great sounds, and each of them sound utterly unique from each other.

I really like the interface of reasons Algoritm too, and wish it were easier to get cool sounds out of.

Still Dexed.
I have Opzilla, but playability is strange, the response and I dislike Velocity range, it's almost like an organ where it's always the same loudness no matter how hard you hit a key.
Haven't checked for updates, though

Chipsynth PortaFM is pretty cool, and nice if you're learning FM synthesis as it has just two operators and still use proper FM synthesis

It's promoted as emulating an original which was cheesy and made of plastic, it sounds pretty good though, great for retro or synthwave

Volca FM2.
