zvenx wrote: Wed Jun 22, 2022 9:27 pm Since we are doing feature requests, here is what I would love.

I know in the SYN page there are tuning slides that can be linked to all layers, but what I would love is a global tune and fine tune somewhere central like next to the master volume slider.

I know some of the factory patches are atonal but some of them seem like I can nudge them a few cents and make them in tune to the rest of the instruments I may use on a project.
What I'd like to avoid is adding this twice, as it easily gets confusing, and you will always need to check in two places. What I plan is to have a global mastertune (currently is 440Hz), but that would not be saved per patch.
Is your request more about the position of the tuning slider, such that it is always visible - or is it about something else?

Post

Well I guess currently it is positioning, because I haven't delved into it as much as I would like, but I imagine if there are cases where i create a patch where the pitch is not linked for all six layers, tuning of the whole preset may become a bit problematic.
hope that makes sense.

Yeah sadly...I was giving it a few more days trial before I buy it.. that price was a lot more alluring for a would like to have not a NEED to have item... (not at all suggesting it is overpriced).

Feature request: Somewhere to see or a link to the path of the original sample/samples would be really handy.

Amazing synth, thanks, Peter. I've already had one track almost write itself.
You can put the content pack whereever you want, just please don't put it into the User Patches directory. It should be SSD, and it should not have restrictive access permission. I suggest to make a subfolder NovumPacks in the location where you store your samples and then put the BASICS folder there.

Initially I had the path of the original sample embedded in the patch. But the feedback of the early access users was against this - because in this way it will also be visible to other people using your patch, and the filepath often contains sensible information like your user name, recording locations, etc. This is the reason why I removed this.
Will do, thanks, Peter.

What do you think of this:
* shift-click on the timbre dot will replay the layer in its original speed and pitch
* w/o SYN, w/o FX, w/o grains (just normal playback) and w/o START/L1/L2
* but will take into account the timbre flower, the envelope and the "HOMOGENIZED" state

Basically: "what you see is what you hear"
That would be great. Could that also be implemented for the layers in the patch list on the left?

On a different note, I accidentally made a patch the init preset and would like to have the blank init back. How do I go about doing that?

If you save a patch it doesn't overwrite the original, it creates a copy in your user files. So the original init should still be there.

Ah, sure, I didn't think about this, of course! Thanks for pointing this out. I added it to the list.

Yeah but where? :? (I clicked the "Make this the init patch" command, so if I go on "Load init patch" only that patch comes up. I don't see init anywhere in the basic folder either.)

Where you loaded the original init from? Isn't there one in basics then? If not where did you get it?

The original INIT is here:
On Mac: /Library/Application Support/Dawesome/Novum/INIT.novum
On Win: C:\ProgramData\Dawesome\Novum\INIT.novum
You can drag and drop it from the file system to the patch selector in Novum to load it.

Then click SAVE to store it in your user patches if you like.

First impression of the demo:

Really good! :tu:
Pretty much has me sold after an hour or so. :phones:
The sample decompose is the cake, and the ability to swap decomposed parts is the icing on the cake.

Absolutely wonderful synth. A worthy successor to Abyss. Congrats, Peter.
