I know you weren't lying. I upgraded plugins that still had WUP without seeing the new requirements. So I was asking if v14 plugins run in C11 even though Waves doesn't support that version officially.ramseysounds wrote: Wed Jun 22, 2022 7:25 amYeah cos I'm lying and just making stuff upv1o wrote: Tue Jun 21, 2022 9:52 pmCan anyone confirm if v14 does not work at all with Cubase 11?ramseysounds wrote: Tue Jun 21, 2022 8:13 pm Just a word of warning for Cubase users; the spec requirements on the Waves website says 14 is only compatible with Cubase 12. Like Pixel85 said it likely just means they didn't test other versions of Cubase, but in practice there shouldn't be any change to how VSTs are handled by the DAW.

Until it goes wrong and Waves wash their hands of any issues because their website says it won't
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

They already did. This is why you have written information about supported DAWs / OS / etc. on Waves website and (I'm pretty sure that) any website of software available to download.ramseysounds wrote: Wed Jun 22, 2022 1:24 pmUntil it goes wrong and Waves wash their hands of any issues because their website says it won't![]()
It still doesn't change the fact that there's no reason for Waves v14 to not work in older versions of Cubase... on Windows anyway (I don't care about Mac users and their never-ending compatibility issues).

Yeah, except chances are you'll be 100% fine [on Windows] and it will likely be more stable than prior versions. And if someone does run into issues...well, upgrade your Cubase you lazy sod! The days of "never udpate a stable system" are long gone IMO. Now it's more like, "if you want stability, keep your crap up to date except for bleeding-edge updates [beta versions, Apple Silicon, CLAP as of today]".ramseysounds wrote: Wed Jun 22, 2022 1:24 pmUntil it goes wrong and Waves wash their hands of any issues because their website says it won't![]()

SSL EV2 is one of the newest plugins and even it is a bit small at 3456 x 2234, and has a fuzzy background at larger than 100%Igro wrote: Wed Jun 22, 2022 8:55 am I hope in V47 all the plugins will get high resolution GUIs. But then I'm not sure if i still alive.

Couple of plugins now have hi quality skins. I bet one day they'll do vector graphics. My grandson will be alive to see this happen.

Ran the update - such a complicated update process! Now I have 3 waveshells though - can I delete the 13''s - you would think the installer would have done that

If you're sure you don't still have any v13 plugins installed, move the v13 waveshell files to the side and see if the v14 plugins still launch. If they do, you can delete the 13s. If you see a problem, move them back.aMUSEd wrote: Wed Jun 22, 2022 9:21 pm can I delete the 13''s - you would think the installer would have done that

Also, run Settings -> Version Organizer from Waves Central first, that does some housework on multiple versions. If it still leaves these older vst3 files then sure, delete them.aMUSEd wrote: Wed Jun 22, 2022 9:21 pm Ran the update - such a complicated update process! You DO NOT have to WUP your plugins to use 2 machines - just store the Licences on a USB Thumb Drive. Problem solved!
....but they should allow on 2 devices with a regular licence.

I had to install my plugins new on my new computer 2 months ago. The Waves plugins didn't make it, TBH. Old versions, which won't see updates without WUP, the Waves Central, the WavesShell which I don't like... mediocre quality of the plugins. All reasons why the plugins simply didn't make it on the new machine.
Maybe irrelevant to this thread, but, I thought I'd post it anyway. That said, apart from H-Delay, I never bought any of them anyway, they're all freebies (or magware, Elements 2 and Codex).

That's not as convenient or easy as you're implying.davestretch wrote: Thu Jun 23, 2022 3:11 pm You DO NOT have to WUP your plugins to use 2 machines - just store the Licences on a USB Thumb Drive. Problem solved!

Nice updates but not $200-300 worth of niceness.
