An hour's worth of noodling isn't enough for a definitive opinion, and I definitely don't need another amp sim, but for just $20 with the intro discount (and given that I enjoy MCabinet), my GAS couldn't resist and I made the purchase. I do look forward to playing around with it.
MTurboAmp just released

With the official release yesterday, I started playing around with MTurboAmp last night. Melda plugins generally don't click with me personally and I don't own many, but I do like MCabinet and have used it with some frequency, so I thought I'd give MTurboAmp a try.

Yeah, it's pretty fun. Melda said that they intend to add more amps and things to the plugin over time, which is pretty cool. As you say, for the money it's cheap enough to get it just to have some fun.
As much as I want to think otherwise, I'm a crappy guitarist so I just go on how a plugin sounds rather than feel or dynamics, but I do like the sound of this, it has a lot of potential.

Is this an actual simulation or just a bunch of IR's wrapped up in some pretty GUIs?

Not sure what you could mean...IRs cant do distortion only filtering, which is why they are used for simulating cabinets...so in order to be an amp sim you would still need dsp distortion...are you asking whether the distortion dsp is low level circuit modeled based on a schematic of an existing piece of hardware?.. I don't know...does it matter...probably not...if it's responsive and sounds good, then it simulates an ampaMUSEd wrote: Wed Jun 22, 2022 9:30 pm Is this an actual simulation or just a bunch of IR's wrapped up in some pretty GUIs?

OK I thought a lot of amp 'models' were based on IR captures of real amps. While I appreciate they may sound realistic enough I prefer a modelled plugin that also models behaviour.bermudagold wrote: Wed Jun 22, 2022 10:20 pmNot sure what you could mean...IRs cant do distortion only filtering, which is why they are used for simulating cabinets...so in order to be an amp sim you would still need dsp distortion...are you asking whether the distortion dsp is low level circuit modeled based on a schematic of an existing piece of hardware?.. Since I have the creative bundle I guess I've had this for a while, but never tired it. It's impressively good imo, still amp/amp sim connoisseurs might rate the usual suspects higher. Can't quite place my finger on it, but somehow the sound is a little lacking comparatively imo. The cabsim in particular, maybe it's just the IRs there. Still for all but the most hardcore guitar guys this should suffice very well for many. The build your own amp thing is neat as well, though personally I have no interest in designing amps, I leave that for the guys who know what they are doing.
Anyway, horses for courses...

I caved in and bought it, even though I don't need another amp sim. Is there a way to chain the amps with effects, without the need for multiple instances of MTurboAmp?
Edit: Also, it looks like there are currently no dedicated Bass amps, Wilderbeast seems to be the most suited. Same in MCabinet, no bass cabinet
Still, I'm liking everything else so far.

How does this relate to the Turbo AMP? Is it for designing AMPS?ggio77 wrote: Fri Jun 24, 2022 6:00 am Hi Zipede, you are looking for MGuitararchitect (still in alpha)

Hi aMUSEd, MTurboAmp, as well as MCabinet, are products that can be used as stand-alone plugins and at the same time are building blocks to build your own sound within MGuitarArchitect, which is still under development and will allow you to create crazy combinations between amplifiers, effects, devices of various kinds. You can create the preamps with MTurboAmp (I, for example, created Overstage st-12; Vojtech or some of his collaborators created the GUI) and the cabinets with MCabinet. Look at the pictures and try the demo...you will realize for yourself that it could be a bottomless pit.

I have MSoundFactory, so I was expecting something like this would be included with Amp or Cabinet. Looks like it's the other way around, I hope people who bought Amp and Cab first get a nice discount when Architect is released.
