ableton + ilok + disabled plugin

I have a track where trial plugin has been disabled by iLok. Null test shows that's it's not affecting signal (despite changes in signal levels [green dots] on the right side of the plugin) but track freezing takes much more time when this plugin is there comparing to the case when this plugin is removed from track completely.
Any explanation for this?

Because Ableton is probably trying to contact the plugin, waiting for a reply before it gets a timeout.
It's probably similar how it works with scanning for new vsts
