Nah, not really a subscription.
What subscriptions do you have?

At least the prices are reasonable, you get added value with every update, great FX and synth playgrounds. At the beginning of 2022, I decided not to update any more. Although it is tempting.
My "old" stuff gets updates, and I just use it as it is. GAS therapy finally shows an effect.

Native Instruments because they have the best offer out of all audio subs lol
Disney+ which I'll subscribe in a few days for a year.
Composer Cloud but only for the months that I need it = so far I paid for 2 months.
The last thing in my life that I would like to do is to get sub for plugins or DAW. If Cubase become "sub only" option, I would hbecauseave to get it because I need it for work. If all my plugins would became "sub only", I would pirate them (especially those who punish people for buying them, like very strict number of devices where plugins can be installed simultaneously) + free alternatives. I see zero, nada value in plugin subs.

I did the Roland Cloud thing for a while. Got a couple of permanent licenses and then turned it off. The Authenticator seemed way too annoying and flaky. Recently I loaded it back up and it seems a lot better. I still go for the perpetual license, though. I bought Jupiter 4 and it’s amazing sounding.
For music I do Apple Music, and I’ll buy CDs of my top bands and downloads on Bandcamp.
Actually, I have the full Apple bundle. You can get 5 (I think) people on it, so my family and extended family get in on it. I still have to occasionally explain to my 82 year old dad that he doesn’t have to buy music.
Prime, Hulu-Disney+, HBOmax, Netflix… I think that’s it. Oh, and I’m a NPR sustaining member.

Never will use a subscription service, will always seek a perpetual license over it.
Rent to own is as far as I go.

Actually it’s interesting to compare different markets and subs.
TV/FILM
I am moving to revolving subscriptions. A month of Apple (Severance, Pachinko, Schmigadoon… what a time to be alive); a month of Disney (The Dropout) etc. That way you get everything over a year for a fraction of the cost. Totally works.
MUSIC LISTENING
Spotify. I want music all the time, and there’s no advantage to having more than one supplier. One fixed all you can eat cost for all music everywhere. OK.
MUSIC MAKING
The model is different to both those above. I think basically because they are tools. Revolving subs means you never get to learn how to use them and have a ton of stuff installed you can’t use; subbing lots to have you covered is phenomenally expensive. It just makes more sense - to me anyway - to own, where I can always grab anything to work on any old or new project at any time.

Music is only a hobby for me and I although I don't mind spending spare money to "gear up", I don't want a regular payment every month/year when I might get no benefit.
Really unhappy when a product pricing model moves to subscription only. I have a perpetual license for ScanScore v2 Pro and found it very useful, but they have gone subscription only for v3. I would have been happy to pay to upgrade for the new features or even buy a new perpetual license but I struggle to see that pure subscriptions (as opposed to "rent-to-buy" and similar) make sense for a hobbyist.
Just my opinion of course.

To buy into the business model of subscriptions for software is to contribute to a future where 99,99999% of us end up in serfdom. Don´t do it.
