How to do this, that and the other. Share, learn, teach. How did X do that? How can I sound like Y?

Hi,
In your opinion, what sounds worse?

A: digital conversion 48k to 44.1k
B: 48k DA interface to 44.1k AD interface via analog cable

It depends on many factors. Each thing you use in the chain contributes.

But can you tell the difference?
And why not do the project in 44.1kHz?
We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Image

I would just leave it at 48kHz if possible.

For the most cases, I do A. Resample is done by SoX.
I do B when I want to make it sounds like 90s. AD is well used one like TC Finalizer, Alesis ADAT.

Resampling couldn't possibly sound worse than re-recording. Even the cleanest recording chain will have more distortion than a (reasonable) resampling process.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.
