Are there any great albums (iyo) from the past 5 years that you play on regular repeat? (I'm on the hunt for new music!)

Yeah, "nice" is a good word. And she is very artistic. Different "masks" all the time. For me she was a real discovery.

I buy plenty but it doesn't sound like any of the shit you idiots have posted.
im not in the city, hanging about in record shops and bars to hear new stuff as much!! and im old, id hoped some more city dwellers and young folk would be feeding us older small town folk with new culture
Those days are long gone. There aren't any record shops any more and clubs only play mainstream shite. There is nowhere you can go to find new music any more, except on line. Bandcamp has been a great source for me, along with Discogs.

well that's not quite true everywhere.
yes, there's a lot less record shops now, but i can think of 4 or 5 in lpool and manc, even without mentioning hmv. (which still exists somehow, despite going under repeatedly).
clubs, we still have them, but i don't have the desire or energy to be going out to such places.
even in this shitty town, we have several small pub venues, that do different alternative nights, with ocassionally a live band or two as well.

still slowly recovering from the lockdown of course, but ive seen posters recently for a couple so they're not completely dead.

and the first bit, i don't want it to sound like what ive posted, or it wouldn't be "new" to me, would it?

my point was i expected all kinds of different music, as we do all have individual tastes.

I don't tend to play albums on repeat, because I like too many different things. But some of my favorites of the last 5 (okay, more like 6 or 7) years that I have played MANY times overall:

Belief Defect: Decadent Yet Depraved
Blackmoon1348: Sidpa Bardo
Caterina Barbieri: Patterns of Consciousness
Dark Sparkler: Are You Working With Me, Or Against Me?
Dream Division: Legend of Lizard Lake
Leisure Prison: Sustained Tones
Nathan Moody: Etudes I: Blue Box (I could pick several of his albums)
Thanos Fotiadis: The Light Ark
Trifecta: Fragments

I would be extremey happy to discover more new music like the stuff I posted. Extremely happy. Most of my current wells have run dry.

I think the OP set the parameters. I wasn't going to bother posting anything until a few other people offered stuff that was nothing like the OP's picks.

I've been listening to a British punk band called Idles. They're pretty awesome. They've put out three albums all in the last 5 years.

Idles sound great! I'm not sure about the guitarist taking the stage in his underpants, though.

yes, they did. This is what the parameters were:
And so, are there any exceptional and recent albums (past 5 years or so) that you often have on repeat?

And how daft are you that the YT videos he linked to after he wrote that didn't give you some f**king clue as to what sort of music he might be into? Or is a YouTube video or three a little too subtle for you?

The f**king clue is in the f**king subject.
If you take the prolapsed rectum out of your eyes and read the subject of this thread you'll see it says this:
Are there any great albums (iyo) from the past 5 years that you play on regular repeat?
I'll repeat that again since you're incapable of parsing anything which doesnt have BONES at the centre of the universe.
Are there any great albums (iyo) from the past 5 years that you play on regular repeat?
iyo = IN YOUR OPINION

In other words, the OP very clearly presented himself as being open to suggestions based on people's own preferences, not necessarily his suggestions.

Given that the OP has responded to the suggestions with thanks well before you got here, but not responded as though people had misinterpreted what he was looking for, then maybe you could stop trying to misrepresent him after the fact, you f**king poltroon.

i took the in your opinion to mean, my opinion. as in what i like, not what fits the ops videos. as very few of any posted since have been the same sort of stuff (if any) i think everyone else understood it that way too.

you don't have to be angry about everything, it makes it difficult to work out, when you are actually angry about something in particular.

Post

I'm pretty sure everyone else took absolutely no notice of the sort of music the OP wa sinterested in and just posted whatever the f**k they are into because, obviously, it's all about them. I would have expected it to devolve into that over time but couldn't the poor bloke at least have got a few things similar to what he posted before that happened?

It worked out nicely for me, I bought some Mildreda yesterday and I might end up with some Idles, too, but I'd be surprised if the OP is going to find much he'll like.
whyterabbyt wrote: Tue Jun 28, 2022 10:29 amThe f**king clue is in the f**king subject.
No, it's not at all. It's the broad brush of the subject, the clue isin the detail of the post, somethign youfucking well know as well as anyone, as that was where your first pathetic effort went. Now you're just digging a deeper hole.
In other words, the OP very clearly presented himself as being open to suggestions based on people's own preferences, not necessarily his suggestions.
Only if you ignore the totality of the original, topic-defining post. As with most things, context is essential because any moron woudlunderstand that we all have different tastes and becaus ethis particular person was looknig for new music for himself, it stands to reason that he'd be lookng for music that he likes, not any f**king piece of shite any particular member might like. But, of course, the average self-centred cock-jaw around here wouldn't take a moment to think about what someone els emight like, he'd be too busy rushing headlong to push his or her favourite thing of the moment.

Of course, as usual, your contribution is absolutely f**king nothing, all you're interested in doing is picking an argument over some irrelvancy, presumably so you can show us all just what a sad little man with nothing to contribute you are. Good news - mission accomplished!
