Uh really? Unfortunately I had started a small (template) project with the Beta, which cannot go back to 4.2 so I need to recreate it

I've waited for almost 2 years for them to fix this annoying mouse cursor bug. I have 8-track installed just to check every beta and stable release. I'm done waiting. Logic as main DAW it is, then. Not my first choice, but it is what it is.

Mouse cursor bug.
Copy paste from another thread:
When a plugin window is open (and focussed) the mouse pointer icon changes to the ones that would be shown if the plugin wasn't there.

Happens with all plugins while the app is maximized.

That isn't a bug on Windows (probably why I didn't know about it_) must just be Macs?sQeetz wrote: Wed Jun 29, 2022 7:30 pmMouse cursor bug.

Most certainly. All I know, is that I've contacted Bitwig 1.5 years ago about it, the bug was confirmed, and that there was nothing that could be done about it at the moment. Well... that moment has passed and every version since then I've read the changelog and installed the newest beta... but nope. I don't believe it is that high a priority because close to nobody uses apps full screen (green window button) on Macs. I don't know. All I *DO* know, is that I'm done waiting.SLiC wrote: Wed Jun 29, 2022 7:47 pmThat isn't a bug on Windows (probably why I didn't know about it_) must just be Macs?

Just start your plan- you get this one and probably 2 more either way, it is a bit of luck of the draw, as are all updates and sales... you would probably have started your next upgrade plan to try the next beta in a few months anyway, so you have probably only lost a couple of months (25 bucks pro rata!)

I really hope you are, but I kind of doubt it, and suspect you'll be back for the next release still crying about the same issue. Just let it go.

Nah, the old plan just ended and paying 129 EUR year per year (with discount) is still to steep for me. I am open to invest something around 80 per year for keeping Bitwig as my second DAW (I have 4 second DAWS!, while Bitwig beside Ableton I use the most ATM), thus I need to wait at least half a year to activate it to keep my guidelineSLiC wrote: Wed Jun 29, 2022 9:05 pmJust start your plan- you get this one and probably 2 more either way, it is a bit of luck of the draw, as are all updates and sales... you would probably have started your next upgrade plan to try the next beta in a few months anyway, so you have probably only lost a couple of months (25 bucks pro rata!)

This is the beauty of the scheme- you don't have to upgrade if you don't want the upgrade, its not subscription and your licence doesn't expireSamDi wrote: Thu Jun 30, 2022 9:07 amNah, the old plan just ended and paying 129 EUR year per year (with discount) is still to steep for me. The new gimmicks are nice, but I don't use the Bitwig Fx at all, thus they are not really a gamechanger to me. Hope they improve something in the area of cutting, consolidating, fading and saving audio samplefiles. I wanted to do so, some days ago and it was a real mess. So with Ver 5 I am going to pull the trigger then

If you don't want/need the new FX or CLAP or whatever....don't upgrade, its mot mandatory or required to use and have fun with Bitwig, but its nice to have the 'option' to get new stuff if you want to....cant say that for all DAWS.
PS- I have Studio One, Live Suite, Bitwig, Reason, FL and Renoise, so I get it

There is at least one person then who remembers me whining about it for the last two years. Nice

o why not...
why does Bitwig add a Convolution Reverb and Delay? because of Live 11??
this is what i mean, i stopped comparing them, because i own them both (and 3 other DAW's..).
i am waiting, a personal opinion, or waiting, hoping for more Bitwig like stuff....
i am still on 4.0.8, have a license for a upgrade plan, but will activate it, when?
(there are some improvements i like, but those are, well, things you would expect... well people say; Bitwig is young, still. perhaps it is true. sends to sends, for example... the Note Grid is a Bitwiggie. that i like.)
i mean; like Live 11 Suite is very focused on what Live is good at; perhaps it is very personal how i use, and see it, and am i the focus-puller..
but back to Bitwig; i thought when Polymer came out, the the Poly Grid would be a building source for instruments and effects, yes it already is of course, but more woven with the whole Bitwig flow.
strangely i like to do more with modulation with the Poly grid, than with effects, or instruments; mainly the instruments i use have already great ways for modulations, and because i build sounds from scratch, but for some instruments that lack modulation sources/destinations, it is really good.
there are no typical users, of course, but i think i am user, that overlaps with some users.
i use Bitwig, with pleasure, and sometimes with screaming headache... the automation override, that automatically kicks in, so automation does not work in my case. (and automation within Live; the arranger view, i always struggle to simply record-only automation, i don't know why, other people experience the same thing... in the end i succeeed, with a screaming headache, but the automation is never, afterwards, turned of by Live...).
i like both DAW's. both great DAW's, as the other 3 i have... (5, 3 up to date, 2 not, but have the licenses...)
i would like to see, simple, more experimental stuff. well the Note Grid. ok. the 16 channel modulator, isn't available in 4.0.8, is great for... well you know.. is something i really want to use..
so simple: more Poly Grid modules; they have great Phazor modules. why not also granular, spectral. etc. the full monty...
and i know, even with the built in devices, like the Resonator, wíth modulators, you can already create sounds out of the ordinary. but still..
o well, in the meantime, i explore sounddesign, within what Bitwig delivers. and frankly it delivers.
but for me, the real experimental playground is Live 11 Suite. and yes, mainly because of the M4L devices, already in Suite, and the third party ones... cherry picked.. and complex sounddesign, is possible. per note modulation (well the effects can't... o wait with the 16 channel modulator...), which i really like, i am a MPE addict, or better what i use a lot, but mainly; via MPE...
well this post makes no sense.
perhaps i am writing this, i must leave the group, on Facebook, sometimes a usefull message, but the fanboys....
and i sometimes doubt that they really do something themselves... that they use presets, perhaps tweak them, use the loops (i don't install those packages, yes the basic drums, the basic pack, but i never used it...).
perhaps i am prejudiced.
and of course, disclaimer, working with presets, does not mean that it can be good, or even original.
that i don't work that way, is only the pleasure i get from making my own sounds, and re-use them, quite often, also within Bitwig, i have only projects, that aren't meant for creating full tracks, just sounds. Bitwig does work great for that, and also other DAW's. but each DAW gives something special...
