It's just the 32-bit installer, right? As far as I know, the 64-bit installer has no problem.

Looks like the developer has pulled the download for now. I ran the 64 bit installer through Virus Total and got the same result as shown in my screenshot above for the 32 bit version although I didn't take a screenshot of that and have since deleted all the files.

Oddly enough Microsoft Defender did not detect a virus during the Virus Total runs only a couple of obscure programs like "Cybereason" and "Cynet" reported anything.

Defender allowed it to install on my studio system without warning but again that was from the installer downloaded on June 17th.

Also odd that the false positive only showed up on June 29th even though the plugin was first released on June 6th. That would seem to support it's a false positive or that there was another download file injected sometime in that period.

The developer was notified yesterday as well. When did you download the file? That is important information for the developer and the rest of us to know.

Ok at this point I can only recommend that no one download or install Deelay until we hear from the developer.

So then it's possible the download file was infected sometime between yesterday and June 6th by a malicious third party. It's possible the developer wouldn't even know it happened.

It's also possible an update to Defender caused it to suddenly start reporting a false positive in the old installer.

99% of installers don't trigger false positives so the ones that do should always be worthy of caution.

I would believe he is aware of it, as it is stated in the Review posted above.

Important: If you get a virus notice, don't worry as your antivirus can detect the code in the installer as a virus/threat.

Just a heads up that there is now a "Platinum Edition" of Deelay available. It seems to add new modes, new distortions, a mid/side mode and adjustable filter resonances. It's not free, but it definitely not expensive.

Hi everyone. I'm thrilled to hear that so many of you have found the plugin useful! I wanted to address the virus detections some of you have had with the plugin/installer.

Back in June when I released the plugin I did not digitally sign it (this means a verification embedded in the file that it is indeed made by me). Multiple antivirus companies including Microsoft flagged the installer and I had to send it around for safelisting. The malware detection seems to be automatic and leaving the installer unsigned certainly didn't help. For the antivirus companies, I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.

Currently, I digitally sign all of my installers as well as the plugin files. This has reduced the amount of false positive flags but I still get some every now and then. I've actually heard multiple other developers having random flags as well despite having digital signatures on everything.

My apologies to anyone who has had issues getting the plugin installed. I try to send installers for safelisting as soon as I'm made aware of a new false positive flag.

So, long story short: Fortunately, none of the Deelay versions have really had malware in them (especially if you've downloaded the plugin from mine or Integraudio's website).
