The 16n Faderbank arrived. It’s not getting picked up in Bitwig, but does in Reaper, not sure why yet.
In VCV was cool to set up a bunch of cc mappings, CC 32 thru 47 and use Stoermelder uMap to control up to 16 things. Worked nicely to set up each sequencer divisor and note knob on the Slime Child Substation poly sequencer. The faders are pretty smooth. Of course now it feels like 16 of them aren’t enough.
At some point today I’ll introduce it to the modular.

Still having a stupid amount of fun just using the Faderbank to drive a sequencer. Nothing I'd want to listen to twice, but still pretty joyful.

I used some of the new samples to create a tune (ruff mix).
All the drums and several of the tracks use these samples.
Some of the samples are from radio frequencies and recordings, metals, water drums, etc.
I got tired of using the "same old" and wanted new sound inspirations.....

Annoyingly the Per-former has my Keystep on a list of known incompatible devices so I can’t plug it in to speed up gate/note entry. But, under known compatible it listed Launchpads and I found a mini mk2 in a shop up the road from me for £35 so that’s a result.
What I’d initially planned to be a song making day turned into me completely rejigging my main eurorack case and skiff as I wanted to have all the PC comms stuff in my skiff with the sequencer so I could use it standalone if needed and even from my sofa (living the dream!). Had to use standoffs to get the ES-3 and 6 in, but it works!
The skiff, Keystep, Launchpad and 16n Faderbank should all be playable from a small table next to my synth rack so though I may not be doing DAWless jamming I could be doing “not staring at the DAW jamming”.

Not staring at the DAW jamming is the best. I was diddling around with a sample that gave good organ so I went all variations on Toccata & Fugue til the better half yelled out "Will you PLEASE play something else!?"
but it's 4th of July weekend. Last night was dark and hot. No joy or music in the air.Just the occasional popping of ratchet dollar store firecrackers like small arms fire
I gave him the psycho groundhog face and played on

Used to love the train ride back from uni on fireworks night, the track ran high on the lip above valleys and so you’d get to see quite a continuous display for free from everyone’s backyards for an hour.

coming home from dam, on the plane, seeing them from above and not having to hear them, that was pretty cool.
we used to go to the big carnival here for bonfire night, and as the display started, that was time to head home, avoid the crowds as most stood around oohing and ahhing at money being wasted
even worse now every f**king weekend is fireworks night as some idiot has a birthday, and now we celebrate everything with fireworks

Isn’t that about 30 hours of TV. Were you doing this?
No more studio for me, got some work to catch up on. Which I’d put off to watch Stranger Things seemingly like much of the planet.
Eddie should’ve been playing something by Iron Maiden not Metallica.

I am honestly surprised by how much restraint the neighborhood has had. Must be the inflation
