Given the Virtual Prophecy is already polyphonic it is almost a Z1 already - the Z1 adds some additional models though and it would be great to be able to import Z1 sysex (as I have loads)

I can see the Z1 coming at some point like the Triton Extreme did...
They still sell for around 1500USD on ebay, pretty good for a digital synth!

Thank you for the infoaMUSEd wrote: Tue Jul 05, 2022 8:49 amIt's great, not as detailed as the models in my VL70 or something like Respiro, but they are all designed well for expression using the XY pad, aftertouch and other controls on the Z1 so it feels like a very complete instrument. Plasmonic is something else though - more complex in some ways but it doesn't really have detailed models of particular instrument types like the VL and Z1 do.EnGee wrote: Tue Jul 05, 2022 8:07 amOh, so you know the hardware. I've only seen it through the shop windows back then.aMUSEd wrote: Tue Jul 05, 2022 7:44 am
i have a hardware expanded Z1 but the battery has died and it’s soldered in - hard to replace
Is the physical modeling synthesis is the only difference from Prophecy? How good is it? (Compared to modern synths like plasmonic for example).
I hope is yours function without a battery (or is it a must requirement for operating it?).
It seems an excellent synth! I only found it overseas in this link (Germany). I hope Korg will make a soft synth of it
The Prophecy for now though is to use. It is from the first synths I go to (with miniKorg) as they are really unique synths
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Yeah it works but I keep getting battery warnings flashing up and I'm not really sure how to fix this as I guess the battery is no longer even available and it is soldered onto the mainboard for some reason - not sure if I need the battery though?EnGee wrote: Tue Jul 05, 2022 9:51 amThank you for the infoaMUSEd wrote: Tue Jul 05, 2022 8:49 amIt's great, not as detailed as the models in my VL70 or something like Respiro, but they are all designed well for expression using the XY pad, aftertouch and other controls on the Z1 so it feels like a very complete instrument. Some really nice Prophecy sysex banks can be found here btw
https://rhythm-lab.com/korg-prophecy-patches/
Bit annoying that it doesn't seem to have a way to combine single sysex patches into a bank though - each individual sysex patch is placed in its own bank but you can't drag and drop or even cut and paste to move patches around between banks

Not tried this yet but I did come across a Korg Prophecy librarian and editor that might enable this

Never mind - too expensive - there is always the Snoize sysex librarian though, used to use that with the Z1aMUSEd wrote: Tue Jul 05, 2022 12:12 pm Not tried this yet but I did come across a Korg Prophecy librarian and editor that might enable this

Worked it out - when a sysex bank is imported it's converted to a xml file in Documents/KORG/Prophecy/Presets - you can move them around and rename them using Finder and changes are reflected in the Prophecy file browseraMUSEd wrote: Tue Jul 05, 2022 12:10 pm Some really nice Prophecy sysex banks can be found here btw

Just released a sound demo of the new Korg Prophecy 1.5. Sounds more authentic to me especially the physical modeling part.

I wish Korg would bring the browser for the M1 and especially the Wavestation into line with the rest of the plugins so I can browse all my banks from within the browser instead of that silly RAM/Cards nonsense.

That would be so much better. Won't get my hopes up though.aMUSEd wrote: Fri Jul 08, 2022 9:15 pm I wish Korg would bring the browser for the M1 and especially the Wavestation into line with the rest of the plugins so I can browse all my banks from within the browser instead of that silly RAM/Cards nonsense.
