It’s not the Debris parameter. It’s something to do with MIDI and/or automation. Maybe it’s a Bitwig thing. It’s kind of cool in someways, but it’s definitely a bug.El°HYM wrote: Sat Dec 11, 2021 2:42 pmSorry to hear. Cant say that I am having similar Probs with either of those Devices; might be dependent on the Source - material. As for Replicas there is a X-Fade for the Splice - loop, maybe try that. In Strata the Debris - parameter actually adds Clicks & Pops; same goes for Age, which can add Pops, if you turn both down they should disappear. It all depends on personal Workflow and the used material though.zerocrossing wrote: Sat Dec 11, 2021 3:15 amI tried that today and I have to say that I wasn’t that impressed. I was getting a lot of popping when the loop was split at a non zero crossing point. It could definitely use a crossfade. I could kind of get some good things happening, but overall it seems like a good alpha version that could definitely use a few more features and some polish. I also bought the Strata plugin, and I kind of feel the same. Very cheap but it definitely also felt cheap.El°HYM wrote: Fri Dec 10, 2021 10:23 pm This one could also be interesting; that would be the Bandcamp - Album plus a free Device Thing.

I made a quick decision. I felt like $350 for a Mood is maybe too much, considering I'll only use it on guitar do to it's monaural nature. I'm waiting back to hear from Puremagnetik, but the current version of Strata won't work for me due to its issues being controlled in Bitwig. Maybe if that's fixed in the future, but since they don't seem to do demo versions, I don't want to risk it being a problem common in all their plugins. So, I bought Blue Cat's Late Replies. It's pretty f'n brilliant. I took one of it's fairly boring presets and added the Stutteredit 2 VST, Blackhole, Sketchcassette, Backmask and AudioThing's Texture to the post fx buss and I was navigating interstellar space with Paul Atreides. That dude is such a blow hard! WE GET IT, YOU CAN SEE THE FUTURE.

Late Replies is a favourite of mine as well. Same with their MB-7 mutiband splitter. Although this new EffectGrid might make MB-7 a bit redundant.zerocrossing wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 2:13 am I made a quick decision. Hologram Microcosm is the real deal, received mine today and don’t won’t to work without it. Awesome tool and pushing my creation process a ton.

Funny, I did actually buy a MOOD around January. Great box… but too unwieldy. I suspected the DIP switches would bother me, and they sure did. Stupid.
Ultimately, it was my last try with hardware effects. I’m not really into the work flow and things are just as good in the software world. Something like the Microcosm or MOOD is awesome, but if you use them all the time, you just sound like their schtick. I should try to build a MOOD using VCV Rack. I bet I could.

Microcosm is a completely unique hardware device.
It would require some serious chaining to get anywhere close.
Also there are so many modes that would also have to be replicated by VST.

I don’t need “the same,” I just need “as good.” You could just as easily say, “Arturia’s Fragments is a completely unique software granulator. It would require come serious chaining to get anywhere close.” It’s been a while since I researched the Microcosm. What mode would be difficult? Keep in mind, I can chain VSTs inside VCV.Dirk Diggler wrote: Wed Jul 06, 2022 12:39 pm Microcosm is a completely unique hardware device.

Cool well, "as good" might be:
Harmonizers, reverbs, ducking delays, distortion, glitching effects.
So the randomness should be cake in VCV. You need lots of randomness and probability.
Actually seems like a fun project to try and build in VCV, have fun!

I've had great results using Other Desert Cities, Portal and Fragments. I'll try out Halo Effect, but I've been pretty satisfied so far.

I found these pedal vsts to be super close to real pedals. You might need to stack some to get the Microcosm effect but they are really good and currently on sale. No demo unfortunately but i bought three of them some days ago and they´re running stable and i´m having a blast using them so far:

Also Beam seems to get pretty good results:

Beam is pretty great. Not only does it sound good, but it's pretty. Reminds me of a suite of Photoshop plugins in the 90s called Kai's Power Tools. Those pedals though... I have to say, the guy must be high to be charging those prices. I love how his reasoning for their expense is that a boutique plugin can sell for $600.adl wrote: Sun Mar 16, 2025 5:47 am I found these pedal vsts to be super close to real pedals. I just thought of another thing the Microcosm adds into the mix, ducking, their devices duck really well. Infinite Jets also ducks very well.
