I don't have any Orange Tree Samples libraries yet, but I've always liked the sound of their guitars and I'm seriously considering taking part in the current group buy campaign. Ho ewer, there are a couple of things I'd like to know before I eventually do so. I've sent a couple of E-mails to the official support address, but haven't received any response and so I thought that I'd try my luck here. This site has a lot of users after all.
- What parameters are mapped to the NKS knobs when it comes to the acoustic guitar libraries?
I ask because I'm a blind person and in most cases we blind people only have access to those parameters that Kontakt library developers choose to pre-expose to the DAW/host software. It doesn't necessarily have to be that way (some instruments have more parameters exposed than others), but typically it's just those parameters that have been assigned to the 8 rotary encoders on Native Instruments controller keyboards. - Because interacting with the Kontakt graphical user interface is practically out of the question, how complex strumming patterns can one create with plain MIDI (without utilizing the built-in strum pattern creator)?
As far as I understand, it's possible to perform basic strums just by using the 2 strum keys located below the playable range. So am I correct that it's possible to make these guitars strum just by
programming MIDI in a DAW - without the need to touch the strumming pattern keys or the graphical user interface? If so, are there any limitations when it comes to the types of strumming patterns one can program just by using sequenced MIDI data?
Can you for example insert palm mutes into your strums or influence the strumming speed with keyswitches or in some other way?
