Remoter is an audio plugin that allows you to stream audio directly from your DAW to any web browser-capable device.
This is useful for quick mix translation checks on your phone speakers/earbuds/laptop speakers.
Simply insert the plugin, start the server, and scan the QR code to open the supporting web app in your browser. Then press connect to start streaming.
Features:
* Lossless audio streaming.
* Highest bitrate Opus encoded audio streaming (not yet supported on iOS).
* Latency that is low enough to allow for comfortably making mix adjustments in real-time.
* Configurable buffer size for finding optimal latency vs stability.
* Multiple simultaneous connections are possible.
* No dedicated app on the phone is needed - it works in the web browser.
Available for Windows (VST3) and Mac (VST3/AU).
Price: €20

As the technology isn’t safely supported, you could create companion apps for iOS and Android to connect… That would make it more future proof…

This is a brilliant idea and it would help me at work. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. Browser(s) are stuck at the link opening.
I hope that this will evolve into something reliable in the future.

There are still some other options if the deprecated feature is removed. FLAC encoding is one possibility for lossless streaming. Slightly higher latency than the current lossless setup, but I would implement it if Google announced the removal of the deprecated feature.Tj Shredder wrote: Thu Jul 07, 2022 7:32 am As the technology isn’t safely supported, you could create companion apps for iOS and Android to connect… That would make it more future proof…
I could make mobile apps if there really is no viable way to do it on the web anymore, but I prefer to keep it web based while possible. Maintaining mobile apps and making them work on a wide range of devices is a huge amount of work, and then a EUR 20 price would not be realistic anymore.

I can't be certain, but that sounds like it could be a firewall blocking the port. If you can connect by opening http://localhost:8081 in a browser on the machine that's running the plugin, then it's most likely a firewall.pixel85 wrote: Thu Jul 07, 2022 3:14 pm This is a brilliant idea and it would help me at work. I can so it looks like you're right about the firewall. I have a basic one in W10 (no 3rd parties). Could you provide info on how to add the port to the firewall (Maybe as a tutorial on your website)? I guess that others with default firewall settings may have the same situation.sheaf wrote: Fri Jul 08, 2022 9:47 amI can't be certain, but that sounds like it could be a firewall blocking the port. That's a good suggestion. I've added some instructions for setting up the Windows firewall rule on the help page: https://www.sheafmusic.com/remoter/help ... ot-connectpixel85 wrote: Fri Jul 08, 2022 11:44 am I can so it looks like you're right about the firewall. I hope this helps!

I've updated the installer with a version that supports M1 natively. If the AU version didn't show up on your M1 system this could fix the problem.
