I agree, fine tuning should be possible in 0.01 increments.

I'm thinking about getting it, because the SEM emulation I already own (bx_oberhausen) has some small things I'm not so fond off... e.g., you can't get the attack stage of the envelopes to be tight. They're always a bit open the whole time, even when you turn the circuit emulation thing off. And, if you turn it on, I find the variance of the LFO speed to be too much, and the variance of the envelope stages as well.

.01 increments are possible in the software using the centre dial, but you do have to move quite subtly.

Ok thanks. I'll give it a try.

Edit: Nope, doesn't work here. Only in 0.03 increments.

Are you using some special kind of mouse, or mouse settings (higher DPI or something)?

Post

Hmm… I’m using a trackpad. I’ll test a mouse in a bit.

0.1 is possible here with my trackpad although its quite fiddly to get right

Have to say this thing is lovely. I don't want other SEM but I'm really into mono synths these days. This has the same quality about it that Repro 1 has.

The sequencer is a great addition

The dual sequencer is neat, you can export the sequencer lines as MIDI files with drag and drop :)

Mac users beware, SEM has a min requirement of 10.15, which is odd as OB-E is 10.12 ? I have downloaded the demo and it seems ok on 10.14.6
Mac Studio M4
15.7.3
Cubase 15, Ableton Live 12

OB-E does have a sequencer. It’s only 8 steps, but you can actually edit the steps, and it can also be used as an arpeggiator. Who cares anyway. Every DAW is a far more powerful sequencer and most of them have a much better arpeggiator as well.

This is so pointless, honestly. Just a chunk of a bigger synth. It should be a freebie, to get people interested in the OB-E and Gforce.

At the very least, OB-E owners should get it for free, obviously, but instead they are charged for it with a tiny discount.

Pay Our Software Developers

Im not a dev but I work in digital. Its work. They should be paid.

I'd literally be buying 1/8th of a Synth I already paid them nearly 200 dollars for. Does that honestly make sense to you?

You can put the OB-E in single voice mode, at which point, aside from the Sequencer difference, it literally *is* this new SEM plugin. Why would anybody pay 30+ bucks for that, if they own the big brother?

Post

I won't pay 20 pounds for something because the developers are cheapskates and I feel entitled to it.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

I have OB-E. I plan to demo SEM and see if it's going to be worth it to me. If not, I won't buy it. However that's me. I totally understand someone who has no use for it, in which case the action is not to buy it. To expect it for free is confusing because I don't understand why GForce would be expected to give it away for free when it cost them money and the basis of their business is revenue and profit. *shrug* I am all for a socialist economy but we don't have that. The majority of people vote for Capitalism. Pay up!
